I would just reinstall the game.
I've had error messages pop up every once in a while that mabinogi has a patch. I just reinstalled the game and it worked perfectly fine after

problem is, i did reinstall. it's doing the same thing.

cupid wrote on 2011-09-26 12:31
Hmm. Have u completely uninstalled it? (delete all mabinogi related files) Then reinstalled it? There may be a corrupt file in your mabi folder.
If that doesn't work. I'm not sure.

Have you tried rebooting your computer? Or reboot > Re-installation afterwards.
It usually solves most of my client problems before the login screen and such.

Are you running the client in the folder? If so which?

i'm running the mabinogi.exe folder, with the icon of the celtic knot. also, i've redownloaded it about five times now, reboot and all, and after one play it does the same thing. today, i checked my mail and my game crashed, and it won't let me back on now, and gives this error:

Did you delete your Mabinogi folder and THEN reinstall?

yes. ):
clean reinstall, then i can play! .... once.
after the first play, as soon as i exit the game, the next time i want to play, it does the same thing.
it may be an option to reinstall every single time i want to play. but that's... really not something i want to do.

What about re-downloading the game? I know it sounds dumb but... yeah. Try it with both the Downloader and the manual ways.

Could it be that after you reinstall, you need to change your graphic settings?
Maybe you're setting it to something that your computer can't handle because certain graphic options don't apply until after you restart mabi.
You have an onboard video and it's old!
Also, have your updated nvida's drivers lately? If you did, rollback your driver.

the last thing i did in mabinogi with my graphics settings was set it to minimize all characters [for the event because it lagged me out] so i'm not sure how that would have an adverse effect... i'm not sure if i upgraded them recently, but if i did, how would i go about rolling them back? orz
@Nexon
uninstalled and redownloaded, for the sixth time, still no dice. now it's not even letting me play once.
