Why nobody mention the Androids? Granted, I've been playing around with 3 phones lately. The Android, iPod (essentially an iPhone w/o the calling stuff) and a Blackberry. The blackberry sucks though (Version 5- just sucks period for modern web development) Android was all right, although going to websites was a pain. Ipod was by far the easiest to navigate around from my experience.
Anyways that's just a web developers side rant. I think people are way way too sue happy, especially on copyright and patent infringement. It don't matter to me wither Apple wins or Loses. Androids make up 65% of our mobile sales while Apple Products is only 35%.
I do have a general distaste for Apple but they know what they are doing.

I've never liked all this new technology crap, so I'm a happy camper.

Didn't apple Photoshop another product to make it look like their own so that they could sue another company? I'd say if they lose I wouldn't be all that unhappy.
They did.

I really don't like how things turned out. Most, if not all of the tech that Apple has been using for their products has already been around long before. They then sue the very same companies once they don't need them anymore. >_>

Ah, thanks for finding that. Apple strikes me as at least a bit shady.

Yeah but at least big fat fingers have heat! Apparently iPhones are heat or skin sensitive or something, so using your fingernails doesn't work.... talk about a load of crap...
Capacitive touch screens respond to electricity in your body, thats why you can't use normal stylus, but use say, conductive foam and a metal tube and use it to control the iPod.
I think Apple is just going to throw money at it, then ignore it and keep raking in the cash.

How in the world did you do that? I can't see how anyone can break the touchscreens unless they spilled food or drink on it. Or it ended up in the toilet or something.

Grow out your nails then try to use them.
I know a lot of girls at school who use them perfectly fine though. :what:

Resistive touchscreens maybe? iDevices don't have those.
I also realized... Is this the same VIA that makes Motherboard Soundcards? If it is I hope Apple wins, because of the massive pain it was attempting to use thier crappy drivers. With thier software you can't use a mic boost with your other computer audio for no reason.
I ended up buying an external soundcard any bypassing the VIA one entirely.

I actually agreed with this. :U I really hate touch-screen as well. They become worn-out too easily, and become inaccurate when trying to use it.

Well, I don't know how long you've used your touchscreen or how you take care of it, but that's never happened to me ._.

There used to be a pic that show tech companies suing each other in this complex web based on the tech I can't remember where it was though.

Depends on the tablet/phone you get, but iproducts at least have the quality to back it up I suppose.
Capacitive touch screens are actually superior to resistive touch screens in that they are far more accurate, and are actually easier to glide your fingers over. Resistive touch screens require frequent re calibration and is actually not as accurate.
But it does suck in the winter when you're outside and it can't feel your fingers. Or when its really hot and your hands are sweaty and the screen starts sensing things you're not even doing.
The biggest problem with touch screens are that it restricts primarily to exactly that. If tablets came with an interface that allowed mouse and keyboard usage, it would be absolutely wonderful. I know there are keyboards you can hook up to it, but the interface is just no good.
There are times when touch screens are useful, but most of the time you want a functional keyboard and mouse to do things. But tablet PC's are still waaayyy too expensive.
