  Of course you don't need a reason, but the way your worded the your post in that thread made me think you expected to go to heaven anyway. I probably didn't read it accurately, now that I look back.

  I don't even think we have a soul to begin with, and what we know as soul is the essence of ones self, in other words, consciousness of yourself and what you do, which is encoded to neural pathways via synaptic bridges (brain actually changes its shape after you do stuff or learn a new thing... aka memories). Therefore, consciousness ceases to exist once our body dies. Since consciousness is like Mead's "me", "it is only after we have acted that we know what we have done...what we have said". You cannot act once you die, or can you?
