okay, the cats just not making any sense anymore...
Thats not a problem. You want a completely different input for every single move? Its overlooked because it makes things easier imo.
you don't get it.
It's where the person is able to play the game in comfortable fashion where the things they are in control of works fluidly.
In prototype, the problem is that you want to pull off this move but instead you did an entirely different move
Games shouldnt have moves with the same buttons input
to add, games shouldnt have moves where you have to press 2 of the main buttons
for example, the circle, cross, triangle, and square should never interact with each other but they can be done with the d-pad, analog stick, and L and R buttons in the shoulders of the Playstation controller.
(mario party is fine because it it's a minigame collection. the controls are meant to be silly. for example, there was a minigame where you had to press all the buttons shown on the blocks your character is holding. The controls actually fit the concept and situation what's happening in the game, you're supposed to be pressured to keep pressing the buttons as your character struggles to hold them)
If games can't support moves on a limited set of buttons, they shouldn't be done that way at all.
No More Heroes has a simple combat control set. A is to slash, holding the wiimote up or down uses different stances.
Super smash bros has a simple control set. You can press A for normal attacks, A, A for a short combo, and A, A, A, for a long combo.
