How exactly does this work?
I've tried 2 + Blaze, Pet Firebolt/Combo Finisher + Blaze, Firebolt + Blaze and none of them work
And no I don't have Ice spear :|

Kinda a Broad question. If your talking about the ranking reqs you need to 2+ blaze but make sure you do it fast. DO not full charge blaze. Just half charge it for that.
For the maximum damage on Blaze the enemy should be lying flat on his butt while you unload a full charge. I did a 14k and 15 k crit in a hard Tara Shadow mission when it was flattened "redown". The timing is very tricky and setting yourself to just the right spot takes lots of practice. I plan on posting a vid soon. Also another good way to get this is to pinned your enemy against a wall and use a pet to keep them there. You just charge it until full and boom. End of world.

Off-topic question for Zyrus -
Have you experienced any invincibility frames on Blaze? A couple times when I screw up with multi-aggro I notice that mobs rushing at me with Smash will just stand right next to me and do nothing, or stall for a couple seconds before attacking. It's around the time of the explosion where control-targeting will lock onto yourself instead of an enemy.

The time between the Hit and the Explosion is invincible.

You can N+2, and release blaze just before the stun is over. The monster should not be able to retaliate, and you should get skill prof.

I've been trying 2+Blaze for quite a while, I let go on first charge which is close to right before the stun is almost over but no success.
Also it's about the skill requirement, not the damage
Edit- I think I got it with pet combo finisher knockdown
