Graphic Card vs Battle Field 3

  My Desktop Spec
  CPU: i7-2600K
  MOBO: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO
  RAM: 8GB(2 x 4GB),DDR3-1600MHz
  GFX: None (Using Mobo Graphic)
  Power: 600w
  
  So I tried to test out the Battle Field 3 Beta (Woohoo) but then right when it started up it crashed (awww) im sure its due to my Desktop using the built in GFX in my mobo which I believe doesnt have that kind of power control the complex graphic on BattleField 3
  
  So obviously I need a Graphic Card to play this game XD
  
  I looked into those GeForce GTX 580, totally a sweet ass GFX including a secondary reference somone posted awhile ago Deus Ex: Human Revolution GPU & CPU Performance Testo3o
  
  So heres my point:
  I can go for the GeForce GTX 580 or if I wanna save an extra $100-$140 I can stick with the GTX 570. Im no big fan of overclocking my desktop but getting a new GFX would also mean I need to replace my 600w power supply (probably should of gotten 800w when I first built the comp)
  
  Now getting the GFX means my Desktop is now a complete gaming machine, but even w/o it I can run (Mabi,Vindi, Spiral Knight, TF2) spending over $400-$500 just to play one game seems cash burn but im not sure if its a good investment for future PC games (until they create something like a Xbox 720 sometimes next year 8D)

  It's AMD now, and NVIDIA GTX 580 is still pretty unmatched, in scalability, performance, and use.

  Anyway, the 580 is a waste of money and power usage. The 570 is a better deal if you want an NV card. AMD doesn't appear to have a card that competes with NV's 570 in price/performance at that price point (but the 570 is far more power wasting, iirc), however AMD outperforms NV at the slightly lower price points: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-performance-radeon-geforce,3018.html
  You don't need a PSU upgrade.
  I'd probably go for a 6950. Plenty of power and it doesn't cost a ridiculous amount.

  Steam does have some sort of partnership with AMD now, yes. And they do offer some driver update feature for AMD cards, but I don't use it. :P

  The 570's are good cards. I suggest PNY or Asus as the manufacturer (for the card itself), I know for sure their 570's have very quiet and efficient cooling. Can't speak for others like EVGA or MSI.
  
  Power consumption might be a bit high but most people don't care very much about that. Cards and power supplies tend to only draw the power that's actually needed for the workload being performed so unless you're benching your system 24/7 your power bill isn't going to explode.

  I've heard (no confirmation) that the beta still doesn't push things to max (apparently Ultra doesn't work even though it's selectable). Despite that, you have to ask yourself if you really want the utmost highest settings. The 570 is still above the official recommended settings (6950/560) and currently the nVidia drivers seem to have an edge over the Catalyst drivers. You should be (more than) fine provided you don't try running multiple GPU intensive things at once :p

  Well im not planning on overclocking my desktop (unless GFX does it on it's own) so I dont think ill be experiencing the HQ experience with my rig. But I still wanted a good GFX to lessen my CPU's work load and be able to run other games that are graphic limited :D
