Yes you can, if someone eggs you on to the idea that you are and surround you with your peers who are told that you are. Sooner or later you'll believe you are whether its true or not. Live with that long enough and it'll become true.

If this ever heads anywhere west homeschooling will become the norm.

Except that's not how it works. Making kids aware that they don't need to worry if they ever question themselves is something that needs to be done. Otherwise kids will think something is wrong with them for questioning their identity and end up closed nut cases like I was. Nobody ever taught me that some people just don't feel right in their body, nor did they teach me that it wasn't wrong to have these feelings. If somebody had told me that was I what expericing was normal for some people, I'd have never been so disgusted with myself and confused.

These people basically want kids to think about 2 sexes and 2 genders; nothing inbetween. They also don't want kids to be educated on what it's like, how to know if you're struggling with your identity and that it's wrong to hate on other people for being out of the 'norm'.

Trust me, it's impossible to make you think you're transgender, just as impossible as it is you make you think you're straight. My Father tried to make me straight and 'not a tranny fag' since I was 4, so I think I'm somewhat knowledgeable in this area, no?

Its because they don't actually understand what it means or what its like.

But I do agree with Armi to a certain degree. Your self identification doesn't rely completely on what you're born as. There are times when many outside factors can play into your identity.

After i read this i went to find a nice quote i read in my library practicum class. I couldn't find the quote, but it went something along the lines of [S]"over 70% of censorship is caused by parent groups wanting books removed from libraries"[/S] Found it, see below. Ill look up the exact one later, but really, parent groups sicken me because there so closed minded often on what they want for there children. I worked in my school library for a year in that class and as part of my work, i got to read the librarians journal, which was full of articles about censorship. Many of them were questions, somewhat along the lines of "the library direct for the public library removed all the manga from the childrens section and put it behind the reference section 6 feet high, and now the children want to know where dragonball is!" and stuff like that.
I know some choice of selection is ok for age groups. But i saw firsthand a parent trying to remove a book from my highschool library for being obscene. A HIGHSCHOOL library. Religion isn't bad, but it seems to be the biggest cause of stupidity. I was talking to my cousin once about it, and he said something like "bibles are stories of people being nice, but then they see one line saying something stupid and poof, we now have 10million people hating masturbation, or gays"

Anyway, i tend to rant when its about censorship, so heres a story i found while searching for that statistic.

I think the main problem is parents are stupid and dont know what to expect when children go to school.

Teachers dont want to tell them what they already know, they want to challenge them, in more ways than just there mind. Teaching children about all possibilities is how it should be done. If the churches ruled, there would be no safe sex courses, and the word gay would be banned, as would any book including it. Schools are here to make sure that children know about everything, not just things that parents think there safe. If a parent doesnt like it, they should homeschool there children, or put them in a nice christian private school, or i dont know, sit down with them and have a long talk about how the bad gays and transexuals want to kill him in the middle of the night?

Schools arent there to babysit kids.
