I'm against this as well. I perfer everything be kept neatly in sections with proper records for what has been said.
I mean, we have PMs, a search function, and BR for a reason. That and I think MN has become far too large for a chatbox to be effective. Those tend to work in smaller communities where it's easy to keep track of everyone.
I'm almost certain any chatbox will end up like Dunbarton on your server's market channel. Complete with the spam bots.

Potential for spam scares me. I also don't think we want to give staff members another thing to deal with. That chat would require some attention.
