Oh boy, shows how much the lack of professionalism at Nexon.
My friend was going to finish up the Rua's Sidequest, but that's entirely screwed over.
I was going to arrange an Alby ADV HM Mission, but that's screwed over as well.
They made me miss a movie, which I missed a nice chunk out of... because I thought it was going to be back up.
Frankly, Nexon. Your technical team either needs to be fired and replaced and/or needs more training.
To be honest, I believe the lack of professionalism in this game has been showing for a long time.
If I see massive screw ups after this maintenance, then I'm done with this game.
That's it, I'm entirely done with this failure excuse of a company, who cannot manage a game correctly.
Better yet, all of their games.
:sigh:

Let's blame all our problems on Nexon. That seems to be the hip thing to do.
Would you rather them take longer fixing things, or rush through it and everything be messed up and them have to do another maintenance tomorrow or the next day?

I don't care how long it is (God-forbid, 36-hours), as long they get the job done right.
The last 36-hour maintenance was a huge let-down and really didn't assist much with the game.
(Exception of the Latency, which was destroyed on the Sun Sprite Event.)
If they promise of what they do and get it fixed, then I'm perfectly fine with that.
If it's barely anything done (which could take 2~3 hours for) in that window of time, then that's it.
That's a horrible excuse to extend a maintenance time after time, with little or no improvement to the game.
Especially when the technical team has little to no knowledge of coding/programming the game.

Let's go the Programmer's PoV.
The game consists of thousands of lines of code (prolly closer to millions or billions)
Unless the compiler or whatever they use picks up the error (which usually only picks up syntax errors) they have to wade through all those lines of code.
With the only way of finding it faster is to
A) Do a search for a comment that the original programmer left regarding the code that has the bug/glitch/error
B)Contact the original programmer
IF A is unavailable, they have to resort to B and call the KR offices where the original are working at.
Now unfortunately unless the glitch/error/bug pops up immediately during a test they will clear it for release. Most of the time these errors/bugs/glitches won't pop up until it's live because there will be more users to stress the code than the test group and there are things users do that the test group might not have thought about.
Just a few things I picked up from my Java and C+ classes, just my 2 cents.

I have a feeling this is what they do during maintenance.

This is why they should do these things late at night/early in the morning.
Well, this started early morning, 7am PST.

I mean early early. Like 1am or so. You figure, by that time it's 4am in the Eastern time zone, and a large percentage of players are asleep, so people aren't so bothered by it.

Will we beat the 38 hour maintenance record?

Need a new game to play? Why not MapleStory?"
