The cat can't do anything.
Can't play games or watch youtube.
can't even read news or blogs websites
the only website which loads fast or at all for the cat is these forums.
(Osayidan powers?)
It's been like 4 hours.
and the cat lost an important thread in the making when internet starts crapping up.

It totally depends on availability of resources to fix things.
Also depends on your ISP, and since you have AT&T, I'd say it might take a while. I also have them and they pretty much fail.

EDIT: Saw Saani's post.
I'd suggest moving from AT&T, as they're probably the worst ISP after Comcast.
Most of the time, their fixes are temporary at best, and will come back within a few weeks-months, and you'll have to go through the whole thing all over again.
Most often with AT&T, its due to their methods of monitoring users, inept techs, or poor wiring (They do a half ass job, and use ghetto rigged setups).

it would be nice if Forsaken can recommend a better ISP who has comparative prices with AT & T.
the cat can barely stand the prices of AT &T.

Shaw and Telus don't compare in speed or scope to American ISP's.
Because its summer vacation AT&T will have more problems due to more users causing congestion on their lines, and Time Warner will have problems due to supplying horrible routers/modems (They offer only Netgear, and those run out, which will eventually burn out).

Shaw and Telus are very stable, at least. I have not experienced any problems in internet. The speed is decent, which is all I really need.
