So i got to level 24 on my fiona and wanted to get longhammer mastery. Vindi DB doesnt say which quest gives this book and I can't see it in my quest menu. Someone help me out and tell me which it is?

Errr, I forget the quest name.
I do believe either Aodhan or Marrec gives it to you, and it involves killing Goblins with objects.
That's the extent of my memory, hopefully it's enough.

I think those undead thingys are Goblins, though I forget the exact term. I know Ainle is mostly Goblins for the first half (Servant of Hell to Kalis) and Vampires in the second half.
Edit
Yep, Goblins.

Er... the quest doesn't make you kill any specific type of enemy, it's just 30 enemies with an object smash (and yes it must be a smash). And as for the Goblins in Ainle, they're "possessed" by the vampires so they don't fight like regular goblins (the later leveled ones). Ellis actually points out the fact that they aren't disciplined like normal goblins.

Tried hitting things with pots and smashing things with them too. Nothing. Haven't got a quest for it. Kinda frustrating since it should be obvious. I went and completed all the non storyline quests as well to try to figure it out...nothing.

I think you have to pick up items that require both your character's hands (i.e. brooms), that or have an orange hand over them when you press alt.
You get the quest around Lv. 22, so I don't know why you wouldn't have it. Try advancing the storyline a bit?

You have to use use Heavy Objects as of the 1/6 2010 Update.

You can say it's kind of like some skills level requirements... Like revive for Evie is available at some low level but you need to be like, 10 levels higher to be able to get the actual skill quest.

Exactly.
This is a link of the title you need to complete
This quest. it becomes available after completing
This main quest (as well as spear mastery and scythe mastery for lanns and evies).
the wiki is better than the db for quest info btw.
edit: and for emphasis it's only the
big items that count toward the title. i think they all drain stam on fionas (and lanns) when picked up...
