Oh, if you're only interested in afk fishing, this is NOT the thread for you. This is a guide for manual fishing.
Let me start off with the basics.
What is Manual Fishing?
It's that little box that occasionally comes up, explaining that you've caught something, and you can choose to manually "catch" the fish by pressing the button. If you wait until the timer goes to 0, you will perform automatic fishing.
You must keep the "fish" during the minigame inside the red box, or else you will fail. There are two bars; "Level of Risk" that gradually rises if the fish is outside the box--you will fail if this is filled. and Time remaining, which is how long you need to maintain the fish in your red box.
Manual Fishing, if successful, has 100% rate of getting you the item/fish that you caught. If failed, it has a 100% rate of you not getting the item/fish. So unless you're really good at manual fishing, you shouldn't try it. Hopefully, after you read this guide, you'll be a better manual fisher.
While in the minigame, you must PRESS DOWN on your left mouse and drag the fish around. The fish will get "pulled" in the direction you move your mouse.
First things first. RELAX GODDAMMIT
I've seen it and you know it. You think pressing your fingers hard on that mouse is going to help? Hell no. Pressing too hard down on the mouse will
1) Perhaps break the mouse
2) Make it harder for you to move the mouse, which you'll need to do
3) Increase the stress level should you fail to catch the fish.
Second. Here's an important tip; the fish NEVER moves down provided you are pulling down.
That's right. You can use this to your advantage. I'll post screenies later. Basically, when the window pops up like this:

It's to your advantage to pull the fish down to the bottom of the red box, so you can have more time to react when the fish moves. Most of the time, you will be moving your mouse downwards, so if you have a mousepad or something, make sure you have your mouse at the top of the mousepad when starting the minigame so your mouse doesn't slip off the mousepad and you lolfail.
Also notice I've made a black box around the head of the fish. This is the "hitbox" per se, and also the part of the fish you must keep in the red box. This means that the tail of the fish, which is barely visible, can be outside of the box without any penalty.
Examples that may help you.

Note how I'm holding the fish towards the bottom of the red box. Some of you might think: "OMG THE FISH WILL GO DOWN!!", but you are incorrect. The fish in the minigame will NEVER go in the downward direction unless you pull it down too much. Because of that fact, this is actually a very stable position. If possible, you want the fish to be around the bottom of the box at all times, but this wouldn't be possible

Make sure you drag your mouse in the opposite direction of the fish's movement, so you can neutralize the overall moving of the fish. Do remember that if the fish is moving only slightly, you can move your fish to your liking by pulling on it in various directions.
I'm willing to answer any questions regarding fishing. Oh, for people who didn't read some of the other threads, Ladeca is available in your Homestead.
Criticisms welcome =)
EDIT: I would add videos, but I'm too lazy. I'll see if I find the time to add a video during the course of this event... Or you could probably search Youtube and find one. Up to you, lol
