  I'm pretty sure those are just his headphones which were shown in a past episode and him listening to her song(s), probably Eutrerpe.

  Pretty sure those are just earphones to listen to music. I can think of a possibility, though.
  [spoiler]Inori may have left just enough of herself in him to make him blind. Before her body vanished, she went blind. She took all of the bad and destroyed it with her body. Shu may have a piece of her in him at the cost of his sight, and maybe he sees her when he closes her eyes. That, or it's just his imagination...[/spoiler]

  Yeah. This is one where the hero has to have things happen to him so that he becomes a more decisive, confident person. Unfortunately, by the time he finds the right balance, a lot of things have already happened around him and he'd have to do the impossible to get something better.
