  When she ran from shop to shop for the identity of the girl, the rag collector was told by a number of shopkeepers to mind her own business.

  "Is money more important than the life of a person" is actually an awful question to ask. To an economist, the life of an American is valued at about 300 thousand dollars. This is just a fact. I could explain how this number comes out, but I'm pressed on time right now.
  
  In China, this value is significantly lower.
  
  2500 dollars in China is the average household income yearly. Take into consideration living expenses in China, you're probably making about 200 dollars to spare each year for anything that doesn't go straight into survival.
  
  To pay it off 3000 dollars, you're looking 10+ years in which you live doing nothing but work, eat, and sleep. Turning off that air conditioning, heating, never eating out, never buying yourself something other than what you need to live, for over 10 years. But no, he just "broke up with his girlfriend". His "household income" probably consists of himself, meaning he's got probably half the money of the average household income. We're looking like 25 years of a hellish life for this man. Assuming that he just hit the girl on accident, and didn't run her over because he's a jerk, he doesn't deserve that kind of life.
  
  I'm not saying he's justified in what he did, but you can't help feel pity when a person puts himself in a situation like this. It doesn't have to be in China. Given the conditions I just mentioned above, there will be a lot of people who would chose to run away after something like this no matter where it is in the world.

  Had this occurred in the United States, i'm quite certain that everyone would be pissed...but it didn't happen in the United States. It happened in some mysterious country that you've never been too. That's a good enough reason not to bother reporting this story on the mainstream networks. Is distance truly the only determining factor when considering the moral justification of crowd psychology?
  
  To those who have yet to travel outside of our country, I ask that you judge the world only once you've actually seen it. I still remember watching a little girl (she must have been around 2 or 3 years old) hopping down the street by herself at night on the only leg she had left. I didn't stop to question it. Relative to everything else that was going on, it was normal.

  Had this happen in the US, even a murderer would have stopped if they were walking by to at least call the police. These people are clearly inhumane. Everyone of them that walked by should be put down like a dog. (Heck they don't even deserve to be called dogs. Dogs would have stopped to see what was going on.)

  When you grow up in a place where people just die, you become insensitized to it all. You don't think "there is a girl dying". You don't think at all.
  
  Its true that China is now growing well into a proper society, but its still not quite there yet. The generations and culture haven't advanced as fast as their economy has.

  This really isn't about good or evil. Its about perspectives.
  
  Somewhere out there, someone is saying the exact same things about us in America for doing something we think is completely normal. "Those Americans are barbaric trash that needs to go to hell for doing <enter something that we don't think twice about, like eating beef>."
  
  Do I think this incident was awful? Yes. Do I think the people in the video were awful? Yes.
  Do I blame any of them? Well I personally find it unforgivable for the 2nd driver to just run over her again, and the lady to just move her like road kill (especially when she was conscious and alive), but otherwise, I can't really say I do. Just pity that they were raised in such a place where seeing someone die doesn't phase them at all.
  
  Theres so much death in this world, and we're really fortunate to be in an environment where we can look away from a distance and wag our fingers like the condescending assholes we are.

  Still doesn't excuse any of it. They should all be ashamed of themselves at the very least. They have to live with what they did. Or in this case, didn't do. I actually feel bad for people who see this, have morals and either live or are from that part of world.
