  There's a difference between minding your own business about someone's personal health, body and life choices, and then ignoring someone who is about to die on the side of the street.
  
  It was not the choice of that little kid in the video to get hit by a car (or at least I doubt it very much). If there's evidence that the kid decided to go out that day and suicide by getting hit by cars, then it's not my business. Their body, their life, their choice.

  From the point of view of those religious people, the unborn baby is the one who didn't choose to be about to be "killed" by the choise of it's biological mother.

  Edit: I'll add a little more details so that my point get pass over more clearly.
  While for you it seem like there is a huge difference inbetween both case, for religious people, there isn't much difference inbetween one case and the other. Both case they see someone about to die and people doing nothing to stop it.

  Yeah that's the problem though, I understand their view, but it's not logical to use this in law. There's no scientific/medical evidence to back up their view that a fertilized egg is a full human with rights. Opinions should not be used for law, and people with differing opinions should mind their own business when it comes to other people's private life, especially for things that involves their own body and no one else.

  there is no scientific/medical evidence to back up people's view that life is importent to begin with.. It's mostly an opinion that life should be inforced by law to keep an healty society..

  police enforcing law is generally for things that may affect others. stealing/rape/murder and safety hazards. They protect us from others, and others from us. If the situation has nothing to do with anyone else's property or being (body), then you mind your own business and stay out of it.
  
  For example it's illegal to sell/buy drugs in an effort to protect people from the harmful effects of it. So if someone is selling drugs to people, it is not a private situation, I would be glad to see the cops storm that person and make him stop. On the other side, if someone has drugs to use personally, it's their business. If they overdose and die, it's a sad event but it was their choice. It's their body, their right to do what they want with it.
  
  Yes it's a stupid choice to make (to do drugs), many will say it's morally wrong to let it happen, but it's their right to do whatever they want with their body.
  There might be legal consequences for having the drugs, or if while drugged up you go out and cause trouble, but again those laws are there to protect society, those laws can not stop you from doing anything you want to your body. They won't put your corpse in a prison because you died from taking too much drugs.

  Anyway in the very end Laws are made by biased by the people making them.. there is nothing logic about reasons behind law when everything of it root back to opinions.
  
  Your drug argument could also root to simply smoking cigarets. It has harmful effect, has addictive proprieties and can affect others around with secondary smoke.
  Even just alchool is harmful and can cause peopel to do dangerous stuff.. the age limit sure isn't helping all that much to prevent accidents.
  
  Laws varies from one country to another because people have different belief and opinion... Law is not a logical thing with facts and proof.
