This is all that I have been told and know, so if anything seems weird, just tell me and I'll try to find out some more.
Yesterday, my parents came home from going shopping and paying bills. My mom tells me that my Grandma says her foot feels numb. Then she says my older sister sees that it's rather pale. Both of them think it's just her blood sugar and that she'll be fine later on. But just in case, my older sister was to watch over my Grandma and keep a watch on her foot. I don't know why they didn't just go to the Hospital then...so don't ask me. Well, later on, the foot gets worse because my older sister calls me and tells me to give the phone to my mom. So then my mom gets up and goes to take her to the Hospital.
I went to bed later that night and was awoken by my phone ringing. I answered it and my mom was on the other side. She told me that it wasn't good and that my Grandma had a blood clot in her vein. So the doctor's gave her medicine to make it go away. I go back to sleep and wake up again around an hour ago. I call my mom back, to see how everything is, and she tells me that she'll be home soon. She returned just a little bit ago, as of this post actually, and tells me it's worse than she thought. She has a blood clot in her artery. Then she tells me that my Grandma's toes look black from not receiving blood.
Now we're playing the waiting game and seeing what happens. Whether she gets better or not is up to her and the doctor's taking care of her.

Sorry to hear. Looks like it's this:
Dry gangrene begins at the distal part of the limb due to ischemia, and often occurs in the toes and feet of elderly patients due to arteriosclerosis. Dry gangrene is mainly due to arterial occlusion. There is limited putrefaction and bacteria fail to survive. Dry gangrene spreads slowly until it reaches the point where the blood supply is adequate to keep tissue viable. The affected part is dry, shrunken and dark reddish-black, resembling mummified flesh. The dark coloration is due to liberation of hemoglobin from hemolyzed red blood cells, which is acted upon by hydrogen sulfide (H2S) produced by the bacteria, resulting in formation of black iron sulfide that remains in the tissues.[6] The line of separation usually brings about complete separation, with eventual falling off of the gangrenous tissue if it is not removed surgically, also called autoamputation.
Dry gangrene is actually a form of coagulative necrosis. If the blood flow is interrupted for a reason other than severe bacterial infection, the result is a case of dry gangrene. People with impaired peripheral blood flow, such as diabetics, are at greater risk of developing dry gangrene.
The early signs of dry gangrene are a dull ache and sensation of coldness in the affected area along with pallor of the flesh. If caught early, the process can sometimes be reversed by vascular surgery. However, if necrosis sets in, the affected tissue must be removed just as with wet gangrene.

I'll tell my mom and see if she can get the doctor to see it that way or not.

Yeah if its too late it might result in amputation. Which sucks.

I don't think she'd die unless the blood clot moves to her heart or brain.
I think right now the worst that could happen would be having to get her foot amputated.
But anyway, I wish her the best.

Arteries are in your heart, right? Yeah...I'm really scared. Thank you though.

You serious?
Please educate yourself a little bit about the basics of the human body.
All it takes is a simple search of google and even the slightest interest in becoming a little more knowledgeable about the world. Talking about it with nation is nice, but you can't possibly expect me to believe you genuinely care about whats going on if the best you can do is wait for someone else to tell you what might or might not happen.

They never really taught us about the human circulatory system in any science class I've taken so far. I may have before 8th grade, but afterwards I haven't taken any science that deals with the human body. But I was told by somebody else about other arteries so...I know a little more than I did earlier. Sue me for not knowing that.

Yeah, she has diabetes.

Haha, oh man. I never thought I'd actually have to come out of lurking.
Someone's grandmother is fixin with medical issues and you think its appropriate to be such a cunt? Educate your self with some manners.
"Here this might help. '

Insensitive twat.

Welcome to the forums, glad you could join us. Staying at all?
Was I insensitive? Ye- wait no. I wasn't. Her grandma isn't dying any time soon (details below). Was I wrong about what I said? No. But feel free to rebut at any time.
Xiyamae has a situation in which her grandma could potentially die due to a blood clot in her arteries. Skye responds with the phrase "I don't think she'd die unless the blood clot moves to her heart or brain." to which she responds with "Arteries are in your heart, right?" and now I'm faced with what I can only say is one of the few reason why this world doesn't spin in the right direction.
They never really taught us about the human circulatory system in any science class I've taken so far.
If school is the only place where you learn everything in life, then you're ready for a sad mundane life of not knowing jack ****. Guess what? I didn't learn the circulatory system in any of my classes in high school either (though to be frank, I can't believe such a basic and important curriculum was entirely removed from the school boards while other less important pieces of information manage to sneak its way in).
First you need to assess the situation. List the proper facts.
1. She has a clot in her artery.
2. Her toe is not getting any blood and has started to turn black.
Now you don't know what an artery is, though it would be really useful to understand whats going on if you would just google the word "artery" and found out what it means. No one else here has mentioned once that she might die. We've all expressed that the worst case scenario is that she might need an amputation. You jumped the gun and said "or she might die".
If your grandmother had a clot in the artery near the heart, you'd probably be too busy putting on a black dress to be here right now. Her toe is the only affected part, and therefore her clot is isolated to her foot.
Why yes. The absolute worse case scenario is that she will die. She will die because she will just leave it as it is and let gangrene set in, and have it slowly ruin her whole body.
What Xiyamae needs here isn't condolences or false pretense of internet emotion while we all forget it ever happened 2 hours later. She's got family and friends for that, and it means a whole lot more to hear it from them than from us.
What she needs is to find some damn answers when questions arise. Its called the thirst for knowledge, and people without it are the ones who stick their forks in a toaster or mix bleach with ammonia to clean their bathrooms. I'm sorry that your response had to be "Sue me for not knowing that" because I had higher expectations of you.
I hope this has been a learning experience for you. Your grandma will be most likely fine. Therefore my concern was light hearted in saying "Yeah if its too late it might result in amputation. Which sucks." A bigger concern was raised when I saw you start talking about arteries and death and blowing this entire scenario out of proportion.
We were gifted with the capacity to think on a higher level than that. Go use it for something other than watching anime and playing video games. Can't even begin to count the number of times someone has told me how "smart" I am despite the fact that my source was from an article I read off a google search in 8 minutes.
I'm not smart. I'm just being practical. If that's what constitutes being smart, then anyone can do it. Go read a damn book or something.
/rage.

You can't be serious. You wasted a lot of wind to try and justify yourself? Are you kidding me? you're so full of yourself holy hell. You're acting like some spoiled child. Grow the **** up.
