United States Marine Corps. Sgt. Shamar Thomas from Roosevelt, NY went toe to toe with the New York Police Department. An activist in the Occupy Wall Street movement, Thomas voiced his opinions of the NYPD police brutality that had and has been plaguing the #OWS movement.
Thomas is a 24-year-old Marine Veteran (2 tours in Iraq), he currently plays amateur football and is in college.
Thomas comes from a long line of people who sacrifice for their country: Mother, Army Veteran (Iraq), Step father, Army, active duty (Afghanistan), Grand father, Air Force veteran (Vietnam), Great Grand Father Navy veteran (World War II).

Boo.
I agree with what he's saying though. It's ridiculous to see cops attack innocent people and fooling them into doing something, only to arrest them afterwards. Not only that, but they've also been shining flashy lights now at cameras to prevent people from catching them on tape.
That's dirty crap, man.

They blind cameras? O_o That's just weird.
Yea, I can see his point, but the dude's screaming like some sort of psycho. <_<

The Law system has always been crap, but lately it's at an all time high; Judges, Cops, Police Chiefs, etc.
There are still good cops, but they're far out-numbered. It seems like all they care about is money and power. Justice seems to mean nothing to most of them anymore.

15 minutes of fame... he'll be forgotten in 2 weeks, or be exploited by media and politicians.
Overall, something like this is nothing. So some guy got angry and shouted at the police? So what?
The movement is going to be big though. It's growing every day. Something is going to have to happen. A nation will tear itself apart if it doesn't support its people.

This gets more messed up the more I know about it. What the man in the video says about the story going away is saddening.

Dumbass.
That's a direct violation of DOD Directive 1344.10 "Political Activities by Members of the Armed Forces".
E3.1. LOCAL NONPARTISAN POLITICAL ACTIVITIES
This Directive does not preclude participation in local nonpartisan political campaigns, initiatives, or referendums. A member taking part in local nonpartisan political activity, however, shall not:
E3.1.1. Wear a uniform or use any Government property or facilities while participating.
E3.1.2. Allow such participation to interfere with or prejudice the member’s performance of military duties.
E3.1.3. Engage in conduct that in any way may reasonably imply that the Military Department concerned or any component of such Department has taken an official position on, or is otherwise involved in, the local political campaign or issue.
You done goofed, son. I hope the UCMJ doesn't crush you too badly.
It's perfectly fine for military members to rally at events provided we show no affiliation with the Department of Defense.

Being a police at that area must be the worst job right now. Imagine the stress they have to deal with from those protesters and their superiors. The people and the media are both not telling the whole truth.
This occupy Wallstreet movement is stupid. There is no central demand that lawmakers can actually do. Their demands are too vague, and there are way too much of them. Not to mention people participating in protesting means they aren't working, further weakening the economy. Also, people protesting in front of stores are disrupting their businesses too.

That doesn't mean he can't be reprimanded as part of the individual ready reserve. Several of his enlistment bonuses could still be revoked for a breach of contract.
