I hope you'll not think less of me for asking this, but I'll simply explain my predicament...
I'm having a bit of trouble dealing with Shakarr, I'm a lv 66 PURE scythe evie and I'm finding it very difficult to get close enough to damage him without getting slammed by that hammer of his. The most frustrating and annoying thing that he seems to do every single time, is stun lock me with his dark energy producing hammer stabbing attack. It's been seven tries and I'm somewhat losing hope, nonetheless, I'll continue to fight him in vain until I finally kill (well really just defeat, not kill) him. The closest I've ever gotten to defeating him is when I brought him down to his 4th HP bar. I'm out of ideas and plans so I ask the people of Mabinogi Nation, as I a person reducing to just simply meleeing a boss in vain...
Can you give me any tips/ideas on how to finally defeat this guy? @_@
P.S: Please don't tell me to spam Fissure, as I don't have it. :gloom3:

What is your scythe? Or at least, what is your attack speed with it?

Shakarr's hit-boxes are oddly precise. As in, his hammer head is what usually hits you most of the time, not the pole. With that said, with that "dark energy" hammer attack of his, if you're right up in his face, it will not hit you at all. Also, his diagonal horizontal swings can be easily dodged by simply standing where the peak of his swing starts. If you can abuse those aspects of his attacks you can get some free hits in fairly easily.
That being said, the safest time to hit him is after a charge. Just Blink to the left or right of him and you'll be free to start a Bloody Thread combo (assuming you have decent attack speed) and it should land just fine. Hell, his charge has such bad tracking that I think you can actually just hop left or right and he'll completely whiff.

Good advice. I actually needed help with that as well.

Shakarr's moves are mostly predictable, if he jumps back he will most likely charge, go around the fire and start a combo then. Or dodge and poke, but that's a Lann thing.

^You can't. Shakarr will simply walk next to you and hit you before you do serious damage, or he can simply stay where he is and jab you with his hammer.
The jab is really fast, be sure to blink the moment he pulls his hammer to his right side (your left)
Easiest way is keep a distance between you and him, and only attack after he charged. You can basically sprint avoid the charge if you run to the left (hop if you think you're not going to need it).
Blink away from anything else at the sign of aggression, all of his attack has a certain distance, and blink will get you out of harm's way.
