I think it's a legitimate problem when you try to get on the bus, which is full of spare room, but some fat person whose getting off in a few stops won't move past the entry area to let others pass. The same could be said for old people who for some reason always swarm to that area. No hate towards them, but they do it and they shouldn't.
The bus driver isn't allowed to yell at them for it, and most passengers are too uncomfortable to do anything. So 1 or 2 days per week myself and about 5 others are left standing at the bus stop because some fat person doesn't want to freaking move. If that same person was at their scientifically determined ideal weight (simpsons quote ftw) we'd all be able to just walk by.

No company or business should ever have to accommodate for any type of person whatsoever. If CEO of a company decides to make bigger seats in buses/airplanes that he owns, then that's his business and no one else's. I believe though that fat people who can't fit on airplanes should at least get a refund.

There's a guy who gets on my bus, who is absolutely MASSIVE (I'd put him at at least 200kg). One time, he had a pizza box, and every minute or so, he would lift it up to his nose and take a deep sniff... :gloom:
I myself am pretty lean, 60kg and 180cm, my BMI is still within the healthy range. I don't get fat, even if I eat a lot of junk. My parents on the other hand, being asian, thinking I'm too thin, and try make me eat almost two times more than what I used to. It's pretty bad, but I'm still not gaining weight (eat that *pun intended*)

I don't think that being overweight is anyone's problem but your own. Genetics fault? Stick it to your genetics and lose weight. Really, once your personal habits and weight start becoming someone else's problem, something is wrong. It sounds mean, but (I believe) it's true. By overweight, I don't mean pudgy or a little bit heavy, I mean obese, a ridiculous BMI, etc. The same goes for thin people. Others who weigh more than you always make comments about how you should gain weight and question you if you eat or are even healthy. No one makes a big deal about that, but why do people make a big deal about it when it's about losing weight? Anyways, this is starting to remind me about this man who weighed 500 pounds and had liposuction done on his entire body plus get rid of excess skin on his entire body for free because his story about being 34 (or some other age, not too old or middle-aged) and still being a virgin.

Oh, a debate thread. Been a while since I posted in one of these.
My opinion is: People need to stop hating on the obese. Why? A lot of obese people were fat as kids. They get bullied throughout their life, getting called names like "fatass". The bullying then causes the fat kids to drown their sorrows. How? By eating. And thus a cycle is born that ruins the person's life because some people are just jerkoffs.
And on the matter of seat accommodations on buses and planes: There's another way to look at it. Currently, people see seats as "Fat people are too large for them". But, did anyone ever try thinking from another point of view? Maybe "Seats are too small to accommodate everyone". Why do companies feel the need to make seats so small? They could pretty much just as easily make accommodations to have larger seats installed. Like, every row of seats having 1 large one. It's stupid how people make changes for every group except for the large. If you're going to go on hating fat people, you might as well go back to being short, spouting obscenities thinking it's cool, talking in a high-pitch voice, and being in grade school on a playground with the rest of the immature little children.
Oh, and refusing services because somebody is large? That's blatant discrimination. Now, you might not see it like that, but it is.
"Get off the bus, you're fat!"
Imagine having to get off a bus, in front of all the people watching, because you're "too large". Can you imagine how humiliating it would be, being left out from a daily activity because of your physical appearance. I'm seriously not trying to be offensive here, but the following might be considered offensive. Doesn't it remind you of another situation that used to happen until people got some decency?
"Get off the bus, you're black!"
My point is, as long as people keep insulting, discriminating, singling-out and all-and-all hating the large, we'll still always be prejudiced, albeit not racially, prejudice is prejudice. People need to accept all people, whether they're of different race or different size.
Forgive me for any typos or if I typed this weird/unclear. It's 2:16 AM at the time of writing this where I am.
Oh, for the record, I'm fat, but I can still sit, walk, run, work, things like that. Still, I know from experience the crap we overweight people go through, and that for some of us, it really IS near-impossible to lose the weight. It's not like how they show on TV where you just slap a headband and jogging outfit on and go through a fading-screen transition with catchy 80's music playing, suddenly being a muscle-man.
