I was curious since I am a transfer in from mabi (and we have almost all the formulas for that game) how damage is calculated in vindi?
Like for example: is it like Balance (max damage* resistance) - def * X
Just curious- Cause if someone like a fiona or karok got 12-15k Def wouldn't they technically take just 1 damage from just about anything? Since this doesn't seem to be the case I was wondering what the formula is.
Anyways, big thanks to anyone who has this.

(Some) formulas are in there. New percentiles can be found in some links in the last page of the topic.
Not sure about balance, so I'll let other people answer that.

There's also an attack/deffense cap. If ATT - DEF is more than the attack cap, the attack cap is used for the calculations, if it's lower than the def cap, the def cap is used.
If the ATT cap is 10k, and the def cap is 2k, then for someone with 15k ATT attacking a monster with 1k def, 10k would be used instead of 14k, and if someone with 5k att attacks a target with 4k def, 2k would be used instead of 1k.
The ATT cap has been raised atleast twice so far, and i'm not sure what it is right now. someone told me 23k, but i have no idea where they got that number.
The last time i saw ppl discussing the DEF cap, they said it was 2k, but that was like b4 the first known ATT cap raise, and it's likely to have changed aswell.

Eh, whatever DEF formula is, there's no DEF cap.
Just go try it, using 3k DEF, then 4k DEF, then 5k DEF, and take hits from hermills in boat 1. You will get different damage to HP, even though your DEF is way over the monster's ATT.
For ATT, it works as this 0 < (Player ATT) - (Monster DEF) < 10,000. 23k seems a bit too much, but I will see if that's true. Yes, ATT formua is much simpler than DEF, since if you go over the cap, you gain no bonus from having more ATT.
