I need to work on refine because I needa get dex and I want to work on blacksmithing. Whats the easier way to get ores. Mining or Metalluring? And no I cant just buy ores or I would.
Edit:Crap wrong section. My bad.

Metallurgying. More ores in less spaces. Much easier to find as well. Slightly higher cost, but you have the chance to get gems. For mythril, you can go do the mythril dungeon.

metallurging, cuz if you rank it above rank9 it gives you two ores at a time, and you can get gems to sell or feed to your ego. mining is boring and annoying because pickaxes lose dura faster and you have go in and out of the dungeon, AND...the percentages in mining are messed up. This is just my opinion :P

Moved to Questions.
What these guys said but also...
They take up 1x1 instead of 2x2. That means you can fill your inventory with more of them. So you can sell more in your shop! :D
EDIT: Beat Shironi to it.

Forgot to add. Ten in a stack for metallurgying, each stack takes up 1 spce. For mining, it's 5 a stack, and each stack takes up 4 spaces.

Metallurgy is easier, Don't have to fight through a dungeon and can hold more of that type in your inventory. Thought I like mining since you can come out of barri and straight to furnace.. And metallurgy is expensive.

Gems more than make up to it, though.

So if I should do metallurgy should I get it on an elf alt? I heard people only do it on an elf alt.
Thanks Mop for moving. Sorry for meh stupidity :/

I'm pretty sure that they're both 10 a stack
DEFINITELY metallurgy. I don't have a clue why people are saying that it's expensive, because it's not anymore expensive than mining, especially if you have an upgraded pickaxe. The best way to metallurge is to make a mule (preferably elf for the extra speed) and get r6 metallurgy and r1 production mastery on it (they're both very easy to train, you just need the ap for them). Plus metallurgy is extremely good for money. I made my fortune off of selling gems, but that was before Nekojima... now they're worth 1/2 their old price, if that...

I guess so, cuz elfs run faster so you get a more efficient time? But then again, my metallurgy alt is a human so he can cont. warp to the quilla metallurgy site when he's done selling stuff or something.

Metallurgy.
What would you prefer? Constantly paying expensive repairs for a pickaxe (If you upgraded it) to get ores quickly while running back and forth into dungeons and fighting multiple fomors, OR going to a beach or river, bringing multiple metallurgy sieves with you that take up a few chunks of inventory, and just shift sands to find an ore (You can get two ores/gems at rank 9+ from just one attempt). Not to mention the Metallurgy ores are much smaller in your inventory (1x1) and stack up to ten, which makes refining them faster because you don't have to run back and forth into the bank or constantly shift things with your pet's inventory as much.

No need to be mean about it :/

The only reason you would want to mine is if you want to get mythril ores, or do a part time job at the same time.
But overall, metallurgy, no contest.

just make sure the alt is on the same account so you can transfer the ores through pets quickly. station your main in bangor while you metallurgize with your alt. have 3 sieves blessed and when they break, have your main repair them at elen for super cheap. if she messes up on a sieve, use that one for ego food, buy another sieve and bless it with your ego bonus. i like using 3 blessed sieves at a time so i don't have to go back and forth getting a new sieve or repairing constantly. when your mule's inv gets full, transfer all the ores thru pet. refine with your main, since he is in bangor. then go back to metallurgy on your alt. i used an elf alt to cap metallurgy / prod 1, only because she was a free assist card, and i might as well get her a little dex while making her a mule. i chose her over my giant because elves are supposed to have more dex starting out. have the mule use the mine expert title or all-knowing. since my mule is a noob i use the all-knowing. 20 dex ftw. metallurgy is practical.
ps = on a kind of irrelevant note: use old furnaces in filia/vales for a lesser success rate. don't forget to join prod parties when you need successes.

I wouldn't bother, just do it on your main it wont hurt you to have it ranked. That's just me though. I only use mules for bank tabs/gold space, and sometimes for ideals (i.e. my Dunbarton bank ideal). :)
