Can't get RTC3 to start

A good friend of mine bought me Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum
and I installed it and everything was good but my steam user icon thing would turn green and then turn blue again and nothing would pop up
I've reinstalled three times but nothing seems to work

(the torrented version worked fine though)

Did you try starting it from steam library or desktop? Also you will need to steam to recreate that shortcut by right clicking on RTC3 on the steam library and click "create shortcut".
You could also try to run in compatibility mode as Vista or XP2 and run it as an administrator.

I tired starting it from both :c
I'll recreate the shortcut
and try those two things

Did you try compatibility mode?

If not I suggest using a virtual machine to run the game and since you have windows 7 you could most likely run the virtual machine with windows XP.

Also did you try getting gold I heard it works better with windows 7.

In taht case I'd really just ask Valve, since they're responsible for the whole installation thing I guess.

Everytime I install it and go into the directory there is no application other than "uninstall"

where do I do that
do I just send in a ticket at customer support?
