Like it's been said a few times I prefer the human's versatility though I wouldn't mind playing an elf or a giant too.

Humans~ It'll sound like the same reason as other people, but the thing is, even though they're versatile, they're still extremely good if you decide to focus in one area.

Humans: Most versatile, I am one. :thumb:
Mainly because of the dark knight transformation. Infinite transformation FTW. Humans tend to have better looking stuff. They can dual wield swords. They can side with giants or elf, so you can pvp nearly anyone with the giant vs elf.

Humans now that the character models have been improved

Giantesses are the best, even if they don't have access to magical clothing for Raccoon Cub.
:gloom:
Their style of play is so much more fun than Human and Elven play. Sure, Humans are good at anything, which (even though one of my favorite jobs in Final Fantasy is Red Mage, AKA king of the jack of all trades) is fine and all, but it takes more time before you can have full use of all of your skills, where as Giants can finish their skills quicker and do more faster (not to mention not as much of your life has to be devoted to WM training). Plus their transformation looks are so-so. Since I like my looks, I'm capping Soul of Chaos to R2 and then maxing every other skill before becoming a Infrablack, because Chaos Knight is that cool looking. And if I decided to stay a Pally, I would do the same thing, Spirit of Order to R2, rank my other skills to R1, and then go Champion.
Elves... it was fun... when I was unique and practically ridiculed for being a melee Elf. And then everyone decided to become a melee Elf (by that, I mean ranking Combat skills first, not only WM). That, and I got bored training WM on three different characters at the same time, so I gave up on that Elf. I then made a female Elf that would be an archer, but I generally don't care for ranged skills in games, magic excluded. Sure, I can see how being able to run and shoot at the same time can be useful, and being patient with Play Dead, wait thirty seconds and the monster has a skill loaded before you get up and Hide to de-aggro the enemy to get set up and more prepared for the next monster (a tactic that becomes less and less useful as your skill ranks increase).
And then there are the Falcon series of transformations... only decent one is Justice. Regular Falcon makes no sense to me, "Oh hey, I live in a desert. Why don't I transform into something that puts on heavy robes wrapped tightly from head to toe and fight extensively, where in reality if I did that, I would collapse and possibly from heat exhaustion? That is a brilliant idea if I do say so myself!" Wave's only redeeming factor is that it still has it's parachute pants, but the hair and the Monarch's eyebrows are a real turn off. And the Sage's wings look more like a hindrance than useful, even if devCAT did something with the wings beyond just looking like hairy tumors growing out of the back. So that leaves me at capping Fury at R6, missing out on 14 Max Damage and 7 Min Damage for any Elf that I want to play as an Elf should, or looking really, really stupid with R1 on my melee Elf, since Strength is that important.
The Beast series of transformation skills all look good, with the Beast Slugger being the worst looking of the series for Giantesses (in my opinion), while the regular Savage Beast for male Giants is the worst (but that's not saying much, all male Giants character models and looks suck, which is why I play Giantess). Savage Beast for Giantesses, I gave a nickname to it, calling it Smexy Beast, because don't deny it, they are Smexy. The hair and circlet go really well together. The only reason that I say that Slugger is the worst looking for Giantesses is because it just didn't have anything unique compared to the other forms that stuck out to me, but they still look awesome. Iron Beasts got those kickass red eyes, and the long ponytail, while a little to high, is really cool looking and the stripes that is your normal hair color only make it look even more epic. Then you got the subtle cool look of the Beast Lady (because Giantesses are women, not guys). Their calm air around them really make them look noble. Hell, even the male Giant Beast Lord is decent looking, especially since it doesn't have that ridiculous underbite anymore, but it's still plagued by it's basic character model of Greek Column on tree stump legs with arms that would make a modern day G.I.Joe action figure say "Dayum!".
So in the end, if they did allow cross race rebirthing, I probably would have made Arsik into a Giantess, but alas, now I have two characters that I'm training instead of one.

Well, imma start spammin' then.
Not in my section .-.
To be honest I like the facial markings and hairstyles the other races get, and the fashion choices. But when it comes down to it I generally opt for the hammers.

Giants are pretty awesome with stomp, I'd totally be one if I had to start over again.
But my vote goes to humans because they can fair pretty well in every situation.

I was going to say elf because I've always been a Mage > Range > Melee person, but reading this thread I feel like making a giant.
And actually as we speak I'm on my 3rd tutorial quest for giant.

Humans.
Though if it were possible, I would rb into a giant. Epic str/combat skills... shieldless assault...... ;w;
epic str/combat skills? uh... last time i checked only thing stronger is full swing :/ (unless you calculate the speed of smash) other then that pretty much theres no real stat difference other then a lil in defense (at least that i can think of at 5:28 in the morning) lol

Speed of smash makes a huge difference to combos. Fullswing is god.

Tedio wrote on 2010-04-15 10:25
Assault itself is like double the damage with a giant.

personal experience in elf-giant pvp (or watching) made me conclude that at about 50% of the elves who have pvp on are random ice camping nubs or think theyr all mighty because they got 4 other people against 1 person. just my opinion.
