So I need to get back into this game, a few questions

I'm a staff Evie who stopped playing a while back. My gear wasn't great at the time, and now I'm sure it's much worse. I did well at the time, so no one really said much of anything. I'm getting the feeling this won't be the case now that I'm so far behind.

I keep hearing 13K attack and 5K defense is required to even get into endgame raids at this point. Even with a +5 Valor Rakum Rakish I'm over 1,000 off from that attack, and nowhere near that defense.

Which armor/weapons should I be aiming for at this point? And now that my 4m+current gear pretty much isn't worth a thing... how would I go about making money? I'm sure if I screwed around at VindictusDB, I could figure out the "best" combination, but money is the biggest problem.

Look at getting Wonderland armor.
Rakum is still okay,if upgraded properly. See if you can push yours to +8 or higher.

DEF isn't all that important for Evies, since they have Mana Shield.
It's pretty hard to get enough DEF for Evies to not get 1-2 shotted without Mana Shield anyway. That's just how cloth armor is. If I'm not mistaken, if you +10 an entire wonderland set, you'll still only be sitting around 3.5k DEF.

After checking out the Wonderland set, it looks like I'll be pushed up to 12.2K with it. Seems I'll need to squeeze more out of my weapon. Would it really be worth upgrading? Or should I just sell it and pick up a better weapon, then upgrade that one a bit instead?

And... where am I gonna get all this money? Farming episode 9? I used to have a good spot in episode 6 or 7, but there's likely better places now.

I asked around on the forum. I think the best cloth armor for Evie is Wonderland set. I myself am Scythe, so dono much about staff. You can check here though.

Lvl 65+ also get free scrolls from a few quests.

From the looks of it, a couple pieces of Wonderland are quite expensive and, coincidentally, you need 4 of the 5 parts to get the INT bonuses, which are quite large.

Right now I'm planning to save up something like 20m for a nice staff. Seems like my only option, unfortunately. I could spend NX to upgrade my current one... but I dunno. The real bonuses don't even come until after +10. All in all this is quite discouraging. I'll have to keep farming, I suppose...

Something like 195. I'd need to check. But titles aren't going to get me very far. I'd be surprised if they all give me a combined 100-150 INT for quite a bit of work. I'd be better off spending the time farming money. I'll be sure to go pick up all the "kill this boss a few times for a good stat bonus" titles, but that's about it, for now.

I'm working on farming methods and I've possibly found something that could make me quite a bit, so I'll probably figure it out.

Eventually when I have pretty much everything else, I'll probably go for the titles. But that's more of a "for fun" thing, like an achievement system.

edit: nevermind maybe... I think Vehemence still has much higher defense than Wonderland, and I do wear those Protection rings and have r9 defense mastery, r8 light, r9 cloth. Vehemence helmet would probably sport an extra +95 defense or so (at the cost of +40hp). I could also probably enhance my gear to at least +4 on all pieces... +84 or so from the hat/glove/boot that give +7 per, not sure how much from the other pieces... It could definitely be realistic to have 4k def. No way in hell could I have 13k MATT though. I don't think I could push much higher than my 11k. A +9 Rakrak is still pretty high up there... I mean maybe there's some titles and r9+ int mastery, but... I don't know that it would push it up a full 1.4k... maybe.

Only way I think you're gonna get 5k def on an Evie is from heavy/plate armors or something (3739 in full blood prince, I imagine considerably higher in higher sets? If wearing them due to weight is even possible...). But you're gonna take a massive hit to your MATT.

Are there big defense/int titles somewhere beyond Thor or something?

If you +10'd it, or Vehemence, you should be considerably higher than that....

535 - hat +10 [428] = 107 diff
607 - jacket +10 [500] = 107 diff
372 - skirt +10 [296] = 76 diff
336 - gloves +10 [260] = 76 diff
347 - boots +10 [271] = 76 diff
2197 [1755] = 442 diff

I guess you could realistically have around 4.4k def maybe.

That alone adds up to 660 MATK and 10 balance if you put them on everything, which is kind of a really big deal, and will definitely push me over 13K when combined with a tiny bit of upgrading. And that's just a suffix. I'm sure if I took the 2 seconds to look through the prefixes I'd end up with something at least decent.

I'm up to 9m now and haven't bought a thing. Haven't had much time to play. But the more I do, the more I start to realize it isn't so bad after all. +8's can be bought right off the market for a somewhat reasonable price and enchant scrolls do ridiculous things. I couldn't care less if it's an R9 because I'd only be blowing up equipment worth maybe 200-300K if it fails. The scroll itself will have more value. I'm not even going to touch the two expensive parts of Wonderland until I take care of the other stuff first.

DEF -28 * 5 = -140 defense. Probably not the best idea... that's a pretty big hit.

I'm not sure why people are opting for Wonderland over Vehemence. Vehemence still seems to have considerably higher defense... If your gear is anything like mine, I'd say you're still pretty well off and don't have to worry so much.

As far as I can tell, most of the new stuff are optional cosmetic changes.

Defense doesn't even really matter when it's this low. If my mana shields go out I'm screwed no matter what. Maybe plate Evies have a case for defense mattering when they have 8-10K defense, but even then people will argue INT and mana shields will be more important. Even ignoring all of this, 140 defense is not even a big deal at all when speaking of 660 MATK and 10 balance.

As far as I know mana shields are 100% INT based and defense has no impact on them.
