Gold is earned through posting (not spamming) in thread outside of Bean Rua.
Gold is spent in the Mabination Shop for upgrade to your Nation account; such as increasing your Private Message Inbox, avatar size, number of images you can put in your signature, etc.
Be sure to read the Rules as soon as you can.
They should all be basic knowledge, but reading them will clear everything out.

also why is there a forum for minecraft and elder scrolls and fallout but no subforum for runescape which to me is rather similar to mabinogi (but mabi is better even tho i've been playing runescape for much longer)

Because quite a few mentionable members of this community play those games a lot, so Osayidan (the web admin) created those sections for convenience for them (and himself).
