I stopped following this a long time ago because it showed no sign of being over, and it's still not over. Maybe I would care a bit more about everything if it actually ended. My guess is they just keep pushing it because it sells. That's how Shounen Jump series tend to work.

Dragon ball z is still loner running than this.
It looks like its kinda approaching hte last arc unless some new bad guy hijacks the show from the people who hijacked the show from the people who hijacked the show from orochimaru.
