So, I'm thinking about this right now. I have the resources available to make a +12 Dreamwalker Longsword as well as the resources to get enchant runes for it. With this said, cost is not an issue in this question.
With those things in mind, I'm trying to decide on an enchant to put in the prefix slot of said +12 (once I succeed in making it). I've already decided on Maelstrom as the suffix.
My stats with a +12 Maelstrom Dreamwalker Longsword would be...
14524 Attack, 33 Attack Speed, 76 Balance, 33 Critical.
The only other catch is that I really hate losing too many stats on the side, so Explosive is out of the question for me.

If you don't want any loss when going with enchants, I would suggest
Nimble, of course that's only if you don't need any more attack.
I have some more, but I'll get back to you, I'm seeing the enchant stats with a Lann's bias (crits on everything)

I'd suggest only either Impending or Enhanced. Moreso because you don't like scrolls with downsides.
But mostly Impending because longswords have such low ATT, so that +360 (technically +360 because Enhanced has -40) is quite a bit. Really though it just hinges on whether you want more ATT or more speed.

Isn't Enhanced -80 attack?
I might just go with that, as I really don't think I need to start pushing into the 15k attack region. Was just hesitant about it as I keep hearing that Enhanced is the worst weapon specific prefix and how I should just get something else.

I would say it really is one of the worst, only barely better than the Hateful (staff), but at the same time, there aren't many alternatives anyway. And apparently it is -80, don't know why I said -40.

So it's more of a case that most universal weapon prefixs are bad? While looking at DB, I could only find Enhanced, Prideful, Gallant, and Impending that looked good to me.
I've just been reading too much about Attack Speed into DPS equations. Realized I really don't care too much about min-maxing (which is why I use a Silent set), and I'd rather have a weapon that feels better to use. Probably am going to go with Enhanced Maelstrom then.

The only upside to Prideful is that it's rA so it won't break your weapon; Enhanced pretty much outclasses it otherwise. And Gallant is OK, but Impending is straight up better if you don't mind losing 1 speed. That 1 BAL from Gallant isn't going to do jack, especially since you're using a longsword which already has more than enough.
