I wouldn't say reptile lover but I do find them cool.
Wouldn't want one though unless there's species I can have in Canada that won't require to be caged up and have its life depend on a heat lamp or be vulnerable to all kinds of bacteria, because I like my pets to roam around freely. I don't want to own any pet that has to be caged up for most of its life. From what I remember many species of lizards can get sick easily since we're nowhere near their natural habitat, so I don't feel like dealing with that either.
Also, cousin had an iguana many years ago but when winter came we had a massive power failure (1998 ice storm), no heat lamp or any other heat for it and so it died.
Well iguanas are great free range pets but it still needs a cage and heat lamp
my cousins has a ramp leading up to it's cage with the door always open
so whenever it was cold it could just walk into the cage and get warm
there are battery powered heating pads that you can buy in case of emergency
that's what I used when hurricane Ivan hit us
the batteries went out every 4 days or so but we didn't go through them too quick and out reptiles were safe
