So basically another 'no more internet' bill. Yeah, won't pass.

The "No Fun Allowed" bill... I was really pissed off when I first heard of it, but, thinking about it, it's somewhat nonsensical in nature. More importantly, it's very vague in it's writing. Those kind of bills usually end up getting rejected for ambiguity and go back to the drawing board.
Why did this bill even get written in the first place? Who would even think about writing something like that? It's not going to get you re-elected. You're just going to piss a lot of people off.

Obama's going to veto this if it makes it to the White House.

The bill won't pass. Since the bill is going to block things like YouTube and apparently retailer's sites as well, that means that the chances of porn sites not getting blocked is pretty much zero. I can guarantee you that a very good number of people will riot if they can't have their porn. And I doubt the US would want the attention from the rest of the world when men are marching the streets demanding their porn sites back.

The fun part is Youtube HQ is about an hour away; here in California. They won't be happy.

You guys should have seen twitter earlier this morning, this thing is being called the great firewall of america, just like the one they have on china.
Problem is, it is your country but it affects ****ing everyone, so you better send some mails to your congressmen and show your rejection of this. That is of course, if you enjoy what freedom you currently have on the internet, if this passes say buh.bye to it.

This isn't remotely like communism, and no, it stands no chance of being passed. It's been defeated soundly every time it's brought up.

[FONT=Palatino Linotype]I don't think something like this could get passed. Even if it was, the backlash would be too great and I highly doubt it would stick.
That being said, no, we shouldn't have to worry about our freedom of speech and press. It shouldn't even be a question. The internet is a valuable hub of information and entertainment. As soon as you give a small group of people the power to censor and ban as they will to prevent the information from being given to the people, you really start toeing the line towards totalitarianism. Let the people have their information, their entertainment, and yes, their porn sessions.
I think American censorship is bad enough as it is, don't push it on to the internet and shut down websites.
