Professor Tackles Student In A Chicken Suit

The kid must have been cooped up all day in the chicken suit, but the way the teacher jumped over the desk, it was like poultry in motion. He should have really tackled the chicken, would have been pretty cool.

I see what you did there.

But yea, the kid knew he was going to get hit, since he looked back at the teacher several times. If he was going in to purely disrupt the class, he wouldn't look back at all, since he probably would have heard the teacher coming, even if the teacher walked around the table. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a senior that the teacher got to help show the freshmen not to disturb the class.
