I dunno Vindictus seems pretty popular to me.
Well, let's put it like this. The raids don't get hard until The Blood Lord. The actual normal missions don't get challenging until boat 5. Around the time when Boat 5 came out, that was when people warned Spear Lann's it's NOT okay to just spin on a boss. The bosses at that point were able to kill you while you spun on them if you were soloing. Calm Ezroch comes to mind when I think of this, as any normal spear lann that just tries to fury+Spin on him WILL die. Yeti King can probably do it also, with his multi hit comboes.
Now as far as the raids go, The Blood Lord is the first "true" raid in my opinion. The White Tyrant? Just throw spears at him, knock him down and attack. It's spammed for ap and exp (Red Ruins wasn't part of the original raids, so I'm leaving that out). The Red Tyrant? He was an EXTREME improvement over the original bear, but you could still throw ice blocks at him. 2-3 will knock him down, attack, and repeat. People swore that his sweep+body slam was impossible to dodge, but it just requires thinking to avoid really.
Hidden? . . .That's a raid? Kidding, when I first tried Hidden, that spider hit me REALLY hard. If you don't have him in a corner, letting it rampage, it will do some damage but it's nothing like the Red Tyrant.
Nightmare at the Ruins? Spear Lann heaven right there. Flinch, Flinch, Flinch!
Shadowed by Darkness? Oh lord. . .so many memories. Memories of me getting my ass kicked constantly, memories of me trying to solo him and getting one shot on Normal Macha. The Blood Lord was so brutal, people died in one combo by him or two. It required actual teamwork and coordination, as the best way to kill him was to spam Palala's. Not only that. . .his defense and hp seemed
abnormally high. Unless you had high +ed weapons, you'll barely remove any life from him. Today, compared to the other raid bosses, he's mediocre at best. But, I'll never forget how much of a challenge he was when you're around his level. He's actually similar to hidden in my opinion: I bet that half of the level 60-70 people can't solo him. This is talking about the average player, not people with 13k+ attack, or those with 7k defense. Those that can't solo Hidden will blink and The Blood Lord will bend them over. . .
