And I don't care. Infact, I'm pretty happy about it.
See, my step-father, whom I call dad, wants me to go my my Nani's house down in Jersey Shore for TG. I don't want to go. You know why? Because all we do is have awkward conversations with our step family. Real trivial stuff. Then me and my brother spend all, if not most our time, in the guest room watching TV/sleeping all day.
Then we come down to eat dinner. A lot more trivial chit-chat, then when we're done we go back upstairs. Dad wants me to call out, I'm not gonna call out. I'm gonna go to work. I get paid time and a half tomorrow.
I never really saw what was so special about TG. I wanna make money, and I don't wanna go down the shore and not enjoy myself. Also, I don't understand why we can't do this on any other day of the week. He keeps telling me it's a get together with the family. WHY DO WE HAVE TO HAVE EVERYONE GET TOGETHER ON THIS TIME OF THE YEAR, ONE DAY A YEAR? SO DUMB.

both my parents basically succeeded from their families and have no contact with them. i think i've been to big family thanksgivings twice in my life, both when i was little.
i don't see the point to it either. my dad works at the regional trauma center and every thanksgiving a lot of people come in beat up from family fights, or drunk as a skunk. i think that if people cared less and didn't try to force it, they'd be much happier.

I work on Thanksgiving. Getting paid time and a half. 8D
For my family, Thanksgiving isn't anything out of the ordinary. We do like to say our thank-you's, however, Christmas and New Year's Day are the biggest holidays for us.

I'm working those days too.
Get like, time and a half or double pay or something.
I don't even mind. All we do is eat and open gifts and stuff.
