This problem has been going on for a while now and I want it to STOP.

I deleted mabinogi just recently and now I can't even stay connected to the internet long enough to get it redownloaded.

Basically this is what happens. Ill be playing mabinogi, or watching a video and it will randomly disconnect. I DON'T KNOW WHY!

It wont even show the disconnected icon until 3-4 seconds after i realize my internet is disconnecting.

When the disconnection happens, my wireless network that I uses disappears off the list for a second (literally a second) then reappears.

It takes a a short amount for it appear to be reconnected, (maybe half a minuet at most) but in reality the internet is not back (i cannot load any web pages).

Now, here is the interesting thing. I noticed while downloading mabinogi, the disconnection happens MORE OFTEN and at smaller intervals. Even when i leave mabinogi to run, it will only disconnect once ever 2-3 hours.

WTFH IS WRONG WITH MY CONNECTION!?!?!

Also, not only that but. I experience ALOT of packet loss (but my gaming is unaffected?). usually around 50% but it has been at 98% before (LOL)I think maybe the problems are related?

It's your router probably. Used to happen to me and we ended up getting a new router. So, I suggest making sure all the cords are plugged in and not loose. If that doesn't work, buy a new router :v

Also, just to make sure it is probably your router, have you tested your internet on other computers at all?

Sounds like it's the router, although it may not be the router's fault! You're using wireless, which is not known for its reliability when you have random interference going on from neighbouring networks, other wireless devices like phones, and microwaves etc.

I'd check if there's a firmware update available for it. Those tend to improve reliability. Check the device manufacturer's site to see what's available, and compare to the version your router runs. (If you don't know already, the router's control panel is accessible through http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 .. check the manual for the default user/pass if you haven't changed em.)

I'd also configure the channel your wireless network is on, by either changing it to another channel (1 6 or 12, IIRC) or by telling the router to auto scan and pick the least used one itself. These settings are usually found in the Wireless - Advanced section.

If you've done all that and the wireless is still unreliable, perhaps you could get another router then. Some are better than others. Which one do you have?
