I'm quite sure they're not just socks either.
I have a similar one, and my mom has quite a few. They're slightly hardened on the bottom which makes it feel as if they're slippers, but without the slip. Good stuff, except I prefer slippers because you don't have to wash them every freaking day.
They're primarily indoor use socks.
