I noticed the trailer for Portal 2 was in the E3 thread, but I guess I should just make a new thread for Portal 2 if I'm going to post demos and talk about it. But if it has to be moved, please do so.

Portal 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Portal game, released on the Orange Box. Portal was a short game and received many postive reviews by critics. The game also created a meme, "The cake is a lie" which can be seen on a wall in one of the chambers. Another reason it was popular was because of the humor in the game. You go around solving puzzles receiving help (well not much help really) from a computer AI, GLaDOS. Her dark humor really made the game better and even though she is really evil and out to kill you, you can't help but to love her... or it.

So Portal 2 will take place over 100s of years after the labratory was destroyed at the end of Portal 1. If you have the PC version and you played it recently (probably around March during the last update), you'll receive a different ending. What most people should focus on more is the storyline, it may seem like just a simple puzzle game but if you pay more attention to the surroundings, you can tell there's more than just that.

So at E3 2010, the trailer for Portal 2 was released and a demo was also shown. It will be made for the PS3 and there will be new puzzles, much harder ones than Portal 1 and some new features like the goo and a vacuum.

Maybe it's just because I'm watching a demo that is trying to impress me, but that looks a HELL lot harder than the first Portal with all the new elements.

People were complaining how Portal 1 was so easy and short; there were even some speedruns. Portal 2 will be twice as longer than Portal 1, making it more like a full complete game and the puzzles will be much harder due to many new elements added to the gameplay. So overall it'll take much longer to complete this. From the demo video, looks like your chances of dying have been increased by a lot more.

Hopefully the new elements won't make it annoying.
Portal's puzzles were special in that they weren't annoying, but still challenging and difficult.

But yeah, I'm looking forward to this, 100%.

I'd actually enjoy the increased challenge this game has to offer. I felt that the first game was a bit too easy and I'd love to play a difficult game that's both challenging and fun to play. I'm definately gonna play this game as soon as I can.

I still regularly play the gun robot sound effects on itunes. This one sounds like it will be great.

New GamesCom 2010 footage and the noticeable difference is Wheatley's voice who is voiced by Stephen Merchant. Also, the game will be out February 9, 2011.
