How long does your performance have to be? Page length to the script?
So this guy is an excellent worker for the store. He is loved by everybody including associates and customers, even his best ones are the ones he helps out at the shelter, because he knows what it is like to be living in such a down economy and in a crappy apartment. His landlord is a dousche, the apartment has a lot of issues, with heavy drug users and wild parties almost every night, the landlord won't fix and of the issues, and has threatened to kick your ass out several times if you don't pay more money. You can explain this in the prologue that one of you can say.
He steals from the store because it is the time of giving and in his town/city there are a lot of homeless people, and a job is a blessing. You can even use the occupy movement. He has only just begun stealing in small amounts here and there and mostly canned goods. He can even volunteer at the shelter after he is done work. You can have the setting be right on Christmas eve. He is in the store closing up late at night, and the manager comes in because she forgot something in her office. She notices a light on in the back and see's Allan putting canned goods into a bag. She watches Allan for a bit and then asks him what he is doing. He then proceeds to put the bag down and explain why he is stealing from the store. Since she is a very kind person she completely understands but questions him as to why he didn't bring up the fact that he volunteers at a shelter before and they could have started a benefit drive to collect canned goods year round for the shelter. He says it's because he wasn't sure how well it was going to go over since the store isn't in the best shape. She is pleased by him and tells him that she is going to call the shelter and tell them they are going to start the fund anyway since it is Christmas. And on Christmas day she helps him volunteer at the shelter handing out canned goods she donated to the store. It gets on the news, and the store's business picks up and err body lives happily ever after.
There done. kbai

It's a school project, you want em to end up in the guidance counselor's office?
It's predictable, easy to write up and if done well can earn a good grade.

Lol plus it's relevant to the season and can earn props with the teacher. I mean if the teacher actually want's some real **** he could make it darker as well. But for a school project any violence if not told otherwise by the teacher should (is required) to be passed on to their supervisor.
