I have a slight interest in getting a giant Val set so I have some questions.
1. What's the approximate amount of gold I'll need to acquire a full set?
2. What if I supplied my own mats to a smithy to make it? How hard would it be to find a high rank smithy on Mari to make it? Can it be finished in gold, copper, and silver?
3. Is it really worth it? The repair costs aren't exactly appealing but not too bad. How effective are the passive defenses if acquired?
Thanks for any help/advice/whathaveyou! I really do appreciate it.

1.5mil for the set if anything.
2. Wouldn't be too difficult to find someone, if you provide EVERYTHING, it could be free. It can be finished in those colors, yea.
3. It depends. Do you want the PD/Looks/Defense that this armor provides? can you keep up the costs? The passive defense really helps when you also got a shield equipped for some extra %. Mine pings regularly so its not super rare.

You can sometimes find blacksmithers trying to sell incomplete 99% versions of it for cheap. You can try to buy those, and then try to find your own mask to complete it. (And like a few Fine Fabrics)

Considering the choices of Heavy Armor that Giants have access to, Valencia is probably the best that you can get. Spaika/Rose Plate may be purchased and repaired from NPCs, but the repairs are actually more expensive than the Valencia. The Colin Plated Armor set is cheaper to repair and has the Explosion Resistance bonus, but the start up cost is more expensive to acquire, since it's only from Ciar and Rundal Advanced Hardmode Dungeons and Neid drops. And if you're a male Giant, then you also have the Basil Gimlet Armor set. Much cheaper to repair than the Valencia, and is able to be repaired by any Blacksmith. How ever, since it only comes from the Soldier Gachapon, it's going to be a good be more expensive than the Valencia.
So overall, Valencia will probably be worth it until you can afford to get the Colin set, since after the initial cost, you're only spending about 1/3 of the costs of repairs compared to the Valencia, and you will never have to worry about Rabbie Adv or Castle Dungeons again.

I need one too, but I need some gold. Is there an easy way to get the mask from the Siren, other than crit smashing her?

You have a choice of Crit Smashing her, getting a friend or guild member to give you a discount on it should they get the mask off of a Crit Smash, or buying it off of other players, who happened to Crit Smash her. So if you can't get to the point where you can Crit Smash her regularly, then you need to spend some money on getting the mask.

Nope, only the armor has PD. If you're talking about the special effects, then again, nope. You only have to have a total of 10 points for the special effect to activate. So for the Valencia, the armor gives 4 to Stomp Resistance and 3 to Poison Immunity. If you make the Valencia set, you'll now have 10 for Stomp Resistance, 5 for Poison Immunity and 3 for Stone Resistance, meaning that when ever you wear your Valencia set, Golem stomps don't knock you down, and do a much reduced damage to you.

not really not nowadays. the boots are usually 600k and the giant val gaunts are kind of hard to find~ another 600-800k. the val body is over a mil for sure.

Just while this topic is up, how much crit % should you have to (hopefully, cause I know its not easy) crit the Siren? I can get probably 50% on my Giant if I use the right title, 60% or more on human if I use dagger's and DK. Elf (my main) I wouldn't bother with, can't get her crit high enough with Mace lol

About 90% Crit is ideal. Siren has 30 protection, meaning that you need over 60% to even land a critical on her. So that's where a Bipennis comes in. A Bipennis upgraded for highest crit (following this path ideally: Hilt Change, Axe Edge Sharpening, Axe Edge Sharpening, Ferghus' Bipennis Modification, Ferghus' Bipennis Modification, highest crit, while lowest max damage so you don't kill her with the Smash) will give you 65% Critical instantly, meaning just by holding the weapon, you got a five percent chance to get a mask. Not sure what weapons you're holding, but I'm guessing that you can get at least 80% Critical while holding the Bipennis.
