I honestly thought he was a guy before.
But I saw his face before his singing.

It's eh, eh; fanboys and fangirls for anything and everyone, right? Though, my reaction when I first heard Bieber on the radio was "Oh, cute girl. I wonder if she'll be just as big as Miley." Though, after seeing his face, my oh my was I surprised.
I don't even know where all the hatred on Bieber came from, as a side note. Kudos to Dan for liking those bands, btw.

I heard his songs on the radio and watched a mmv of One Time, but I always thought he was a girl ._.
I was like, "What kinda girl has the name Justin?" for the longest time. Then I saw a picture and was like, oh no no no no way.

I only heard about Bieber a month ago, I don't know how these young celebrities are getting popular. Maybe because I don't pay attention to pop culture much. I didn't even know who Lady Gaga was a while back, when she was crazy popular. My friend told me about Lady Gaga and I was like, "who the hell is that?"

Same for me, no interest in pop culture, and I can't understand why anyone does.
Some artists/actors and so on are good, some are bad, some get into scandals, and paparazi makes damned sure we have all that info available. I just never cared, I don't know 99.99% of the "famous" names I should know that everyone talks about, and that's how I like it.

I knew Bieber was a boy from the beginning. I kinda assume until proven otherwise-
Doesn't really surprise me, being mistaken for a girl though.

I don't see how people mistake em for a girl. If you actually listen he sounds nothing like a girl. Just a pre-pubescent boy who can sing high. Though the auto tune on em in One Time makes em sounds pretty girly, but not the actual singing w.o auto tune in that song.
