Okay I'm currently playing Xenogears and I'm confused, so can someone help me?
I'm not sure if Xenogears is the Prequel or Sequel to Xenosaga and is Xenoblades considered to be canon in the series?
So here's what I do know.
- Abel and Nephilim go to a different universe at the end of Xenosaga Ep. 3 (Due to reading)
- Abel and Nephilim look incredibly similar to Fei Fong Wong and Elly.
- Zohars appears in both game. As save points in Xenogears but have a more bigger role in Xenosaga.
I'm not looking for spoilers since I don't want to ruin the story.
But anyways Xenosaga Episode 1 has to be one of the best RPGs I've played. I loved everything about that game the characters(Except Ziggy), the music and the style of the game.
So anyway discuss the series :3

<3 the Xenogears and Xenosaga series :D It's been awhile since I played either of them, though.
Xenogears and Xenosaga are not in the same series. While originally they were supposed to be, after the director went to Namco, his ideas for the Xeno series went through some changes.
If the director had chosen to continue developing the Xenosaga games as part of the Xenogears series, the Xenosaga games would have been prequels to Xenogears. Xenosaga is set roughly 4000 years before the events that would have occurred in Xenogears, if I remember my timelines right (and had they remained as one series).
There are still some thematic and stylistic similarities through the games, but.. they're not the same series. It'll become a bit more apparent as you continue playing Xenogears.
I hadn't heard of Xenoblades until you mentioned it. :P I would think that Xenoblades would be considered canon to the Xenosaga series, although I'm not sure where it fits in the Xenosaga timeline.
Xenogears/Xenosaga are fun games though. :D Xenogears was one of the first rpgs I played when I was younger, so it's always held a special place in my heart.
How far are you into Xenogears?

Not far at all. I'm in the beginning of the game where Fei and Citan are in the desert town. Right now I'm suppose to get the sand buggy but I needed some sleep.
Well I did some research and Xenoblades I guess does take place between the two games since there are these two "Gods" but they're really Gears/AGWS (I don't think they are a Deus Ex Machina of some sort but then I could be wrong). These gears are Brigandier from Xenogears and E.S. Dinah from Xenosaga.
Xenoblades gameplay is similar of the current Phantasy Star games. I saw like 2 gameplay video on youtube so I might be wrong.
Gosh I wish I still had a PS2 Dx
