  I don't want this bill to pass, but I hear that a lot of people don't even know what it is, or they only know one side of it, which definitely a problem. It's nice that major sites are bringing this to light.

  The way they're describing it, it seems like a complete shut-down, otherwise, it's like an empty threat. The title certainly makes it seem like they're willing to do a lot to make sure this thing doesn't pass.

  People also said "oh don't worry Bush won't get elected again he's too horrible/stupid/caused too many problems".
  
  I'll be glad if they do this, and I hope more major sites do it too, and I'm not saying that lightly. Assuming gmail/google apps gets cut off, google docs, and google accounts in general, I'm screwed. Same for paypal. Willing to take that hit for a day if it means people get the ****ing point.

  I''ve always been against SOPA but it will seriously take something this dramatic to have everyone notice. The problem is most Americans are un-educated or believe too many of the lies out there that are spread from those supporting bills like these. I am going to laugh so ****ing hard if/when this happens and enjoy the massive ****storm going around.

  I'm in that place where I'm going to be working in the industry, but I don't support this bill. Even my teachers say it's crap, and they help make the stuff this bill is supposed to be "protecting". It's definitely the wrong way to go about things.

  Seeing that my company uses gmail a lot, it could pose some problems but not too many. We can resort to Skype to get work done and I can go without paypal,gmail, facebook for a day. I also don't google search too often.

  Anyway, in a way I hope this happens, in another way I hope it doesn't. I don't like the idea of a bunch of sites doing this just because they don't approve of something (even though it's within their rights to do so), but I also really dislike the idea of SOPA because it interferes with my personal fun, lol.

  This, too. I hate when people make assumptions like this. If they were trying to pass a law that makes it okay to go out and kill random people, you can bet I'd be there voting against it the moment I was given the option to. If you rely on other people to make your decisions or have good judgment for too long, you're bound to get screwed over sooner or later.

  The problem with SOPA is that it's just so poorly written. Even gaming companies that support it should think twice about it. SOPA could indeed be used to bring down sites like google, which could seriously effect marketing revenue for a whole ton of companies, let alone video game based ones.

  The English language pages of wiki (en.wikipedia) is going down officially on the 18th for protest.
  Doesn't look like google and facebook will do it, which is a shame since they have a lot more users.
