that was a lucky day. but nothing compaired to how it used to be. i work at a casino as a cashier, and we used to pay out jackpots. that could mean taking home 100~1000 a night. (200 was lucky, 1000 was unheard off but not impossible) but they changed the way things work....so no more jackpots. but i got a 3 dollar raise. (it doesn't make up for it. but gives me an excuse to work in the day time)

in ways, it is the best job ever. i work 6am-2pm~9am-5pm (depending) and i basically get 12 bucks an hour to stand around and wait for people to give me money (literally...i take tips. i just cash tickets, pay cash advances, etc. its like glorified bank teller)
on the downside..its very VERY easy to be short. take poker chips for instance. they go up to 500 bucks where i'm at (which likely isn't as much as some casinos, but its alot to me) you miss count it, you are 500 bucks short. you have to pay that back.
you miss click, miss read, or do any otherwise foolish act, yuo can short yourself a thousand dollars. 50% of new people get fired within the first month because of shortages. people who have been working with money for 40 years have been short thousands. one lady was short 4800 dollars. had to pay it back.
jackpots made it worse. you are doing alot of them at once, you have two patrons comming up, one gets paid 21,000, the other 12,000. you hurry yourself and don't pay attention, and you pay them both 21,000. you just screwed yourself out of 9 grand. you might have gotten that 200 dollar tip, but you just ****ed yourself big time.
my department manager overpaid one guy 100,000, but we don't do that level of transactions here. the highest we go up to is 10,000. but you miss a zero, you lost 9 grand.
so it has its ups and downs. i love my job, but i have a panic attack every day when i count my bank
to stay on topic, a day like that could be:
high: made 400 bucks in tips
low: was 399 dollars short

High: I had an extremely calm morning while enjoying the company of my relaxed history teacher. Feels good to see her so happy, man. Also, no homework.
Low: Three hours of sitting at school doing nothing thanks to a two-hour delay. Did nothing for the rest of the school day. And Mabi isn't even up yet.
