Poll ^
as for the cat's master, it's been close to 7 years before getting this laptop

I would have used my old laptops longer were they not old and worn out from constantly having viruses. (I used them about 3-4 years each?)
As much as I loathe wasting money, my current laptop was a mandatory investment for both my Mom and I. (Myself for my online school and my Mom for writing papers/her College work)

It used to be every 2-3 years because my computers never lasted me very long so my dad would build me another one
until my dad got me my laptop for my 19th birthday a while back. still got it :D

Once per 4 years I'll build a very good gaming computer. It tends to gradually go from being amazing to average/barely above average in that timespan (and usually a couple parts start to break down a little). I guess as I get older and can afford more things I'll try to keep it more up to date, being that I do spend a decent amount of time gaming/doing other things on the computer. Not sure how much spending money I'll end up with, though.
Hard drives, however, come and go whenever they feel like it. I've somehow ended up with about four of five over the course of 10(?) years, and I don't recall anything about my computers before then.

Generally however long it takes before it feels like I need to.

No schedule for me, just whenever it can't handle what I need to do with it.

I buy a new computer every three to four years.
Except in this case which my computer broke down after a year of use.
Not fun, but I intend for this one to stay alive for quite some time since it can handle being on for quite some time.

Every 1-2 years tbh. Parents always got virus on computer and graphics card f*cked up on the last two.

I build a new one every 4/5 years or so. It's about how long it takes before it can't run the latest games.

I'm not rich so.. Yeah.. Whenever it breaks I'll get a new one.. If I have enough money to do so. If not I'll just be computerless.
So far I've only had 1 laptop in 21 years, so at the moment I only replace them once every 21 years.

For me its about every 2 years, because that was how long it took them to break down and stop working.
I think the time has been extended from me learning how to better take care of them at votech, so about every 3 years now, because i still replace them when they start getting too old to run the stuff i need them to.

Hm, it's been about 5-6 years since I've bought this desktop. It's still running great, but I'll eventually have to once things start breaking down. \(;A;)/

I've had this system for close to 6 years now. <3 my first built computer. It's still running pretty good, albeit with a new (2 year old) graphics card because the NVIDIA one failed on me. I'd keep it around because it does almost everything I need it to do, but my parents are still using my ancient laptop as their main computer, and so they need something more usable... Gonna give them this one and build myself a new system, probably when Intel releases Ivy Bridge.
