I followed a tutorial, but I really couldn't figure out how to place the middle-colored wood things on some of the letters. Some of them just look...odd to me.
It might be a legibility issue. Like with the I. The emphasized part is so small that it looks more like an E than an I, so you might choose to emphasize the vergical line instead. Just think about the parts that make the letters what they are.

Really liking this one. Kind of tempted to do it myself. Is there something you followed to do it or did you do it on your own?
A couple of things: The way the N relates to the M is a bit random composition-wise so I'd nudge it a little away from the m and move it a bit higher, so that the top of the N ling sup with the top curve of that M.
For the "nation", I can kind of see it being less, or a different color. Might look kinda nice.
