So....I found out that I failed french this year.
How do you think I should tell my parents? They are not exactly crazy or anything but I want the least damage done.
Also, why does it seem that when you have to tell you parents something bad, they always seem to be having a good time? :gloom2:

Whenever something like this happens, I camp at my mail box to hide the report card (My Report Card gets mailed) and if they ask, I tell them I got a D or a C in the class or Photoshop my Report Card. My math teacher for this year was a douche and sucked at teaching (The kind of teacher where he TRIES to teach you but you don't understand what the hell he means) and my social studies teacher was just too hard (Graded on freaking College Level since we're in Honors) so I got an F for the final marking period in both those classes.
If you want to be honest with your parents, just casually tell them it. If you give them a serious mood about it, they are more likely to become a little more serious. Try to tell them when they're in a good mood or when you've put them in a good mood.

I was actually thinking of doing something along the lines of this, but I would have to go to summer school or take the course again next year.
If anything I'm just gonna tell when on the 30th when we get our reports. I don't really wanna be a wuss about it.

Depends. If it's an elective, go ahead and tell them, it just means that you might have to do some summer school to make up the credit that you lost. But if it's mandatory (not sure if French is mandatory in Canada or not, or even if they do credits to graduate), then try to tell them in passing in the most inconspicuous way you can do so that they might not notice until next year when you have to do it again.

its mandatory this year , but I kinda wanna take it throughout school. Better options, I guess.
I'm just gonna tell them on the 30th, and go to summer school.

If your other classes are good you can just paint the bigger picture for them and tell them your GPA is still good or w/e.
When I had a D in my government class (though my teacher let me make up work to bring it to a B) I told my parents I still had a GPA over 4.5 and that government was just a "take it to get it over" class.
Just don't slip up too often and your parents should give you some leeway for the accidents.
