Three US warships stationed in waters near Strait of Hormuz

A senior Iranian military commander has warned that Iran has the capability to sink US aircraft carriers in the Persian Gulf using detection-evading submarines that can fire torpedoes.
Lieutenant Commander of the Iranian Army’s Self-Sufficiency Jihad Rear Admiral Farhad Amiri, “Stated that Iran’s submarines are able to ambush and hit enemy vessels specially US Aircraft carriers from the seabed throughout the Persian Gulf,†reports the Fars News Agency.
Amiri said that while the United States was focused on Iran’s surface capabilities, the greater threat was posed by its fleet of submarines which, “Are noiseless and can easily evade detection as they are equipped with the sonar-evading technology and can fire missiles and torpedoes simultaneously.â€
Amiri added that the submarines could “easily target and hit an aircraft carrier traversing in the nearby regions.â€
After the US sailed the USS John C. Stennis aircraft carrier through the Strait of Hormuz in the midst of Iranian wargames, Iranian Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi warned America to keep its warships out of the region.
The US has made it clear that should Iran try to block the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil choke point, a “red line†will have been crossed.
Three US aircraft carriers are now stationed just outside Iranian waters, in addition to 15,000 troops that were sent to Kuwait at the end of last week.
A massive joint naval drill between the US and Israel that was set to coincide with Iranian wargames later this month was postponed earlier this week, with explanations varying as to why the exercise was called off.
Russia, which has its own warships stationed in the region, today reiterated its opposition to a military strike on Iran, with foreign minister Sergei Lavrov warning an attack would be a “catastrophe†for relations between Sunni and Shiite Muslims in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has stated that Israel is still “very far off†a decision on whether not not to attack Iran over its nuclear program.

Let's start taking bets on how many months before the US invades Iran and rapes its people?
It's only a matter of time. The fat ****s in office have been itching for it for a long time now and they just need a reason to do it that won't cause them to look like the bad guy.

Doesn't matter in this case.
The whole Iran situation is pretty serious.
Both the US and Iran are giving each other big middle fingers right now. Every week there's a new situation.

Just like Osay said, the US military would want Iran to make the first move so that they can retaliate in "self defense"

Newton's fourth law: "Everything from infowars is wrong. If sources are cited on articles, disregard them and continue to insist that everything is a figment of the author's imagination." (General Equation where k=credibility constant of zero: k^2i/2kg + ma)

There's very often good sources, like always the problem with infowars is the way the information is presented. They don't invent stories, but they tell factual events in a way that they want to... which is usually quite negative towards the government. While I do dislike the government, what infowars is doing in this sense is no better than the mass media trying to make the government or corporations look good. It's just the opposite end of the spectrum.
Might be good for entertainment purposes but it's in no way neutral facts being presented straight up with no bells or whistles.
When I read an infowar article I imagine a loud angry american sitting in his pirate radio booth yelling out the article... (picture alex jones...)
(didn't even read the article, only the headline... already read more neutral versions of this today)

I think Iran just wants to try to scare the public
I dont think the people of Iran would like to be invaded and/or killed
Wouldnt put it past the miltary to conduct total war

Well I have mixed feelings about Iran. I don't like some of the things they do there especially doing that speedy death sentence trial for a web developer who worked on porn sites. Something that I do mind you. I find that despicable that they have death penalties over there for that. Then again, that's just how the Islamic religion is apparently which makes me disapprove of it even more. I'm for peaceful religions. Not religions that hurt fundamental human rights.
That's another topic though. I don't like the Iranian dictator and I sure as hell don't like their nuke problem. All around I have a strong dislike for Iran and sometimes wish they were wiped off the map completely like North Korea. I also am sympathetic towards Israel because they are the Jewish nation constantly being picked on by the Muslims.
Let's just say...me and Muslims...not the best of friends....

Good luck trying to sink a carrier and it's strike group with some torpedoes.
Let Iran make more stupid threats. The 5th fleet has been itching for some live target practice for a long time now.

Let those dip****s go to war with the US. It'll be the last thing they ever do as a sovereign nation. When the dust settles, they'll just be our puppets, just like every other little Middle Eastern country we've set our eyes on.
We're a very Imperialistic Empire, America. We're doing it in such a way that fingers can't quite be pointed at us, but when you get right down to it... it's clear for anyone that bothers to look into it.... we're the ones pulling the strings. Japan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, England, South Korea, and more. In some more control is exerted than in others. But we shouldn't kid ourselves. It's what we do.
And it's why nearly every other country in the world hates us.
