The GeForce 9800GT I have is out the door now, and I'm looking for a new card as we speak. I'm willing to buy a PSU up to 600W for the new card as well...
PCI-E, Single Slot, 600W: Price range is $100~$200... so not that overboard. And I don't want to touch a NVidia card again... though I might go for it.
Recommendations?

Four 9800GT's, most of which refurbs.
Such is to be expected.
You'll probably get better responses in the
Tech Support section. I could move your thread if you want...

Yeah I wouldn't exactly count on Bean Rua as a place for serious tech responses... this forum does have other sections you know. :P
Anyways PCI-E 2.0 slot or non? Asking 'cause you're using an older card right now. Also what size/type case?

GTX550/-60 might be something for you, albeit it's nVidia obviously.

Now we play the waiting game. As in, wait for Yoorah or the Cat to see this thread.

I have a 560 Ti. I had a GTX 280, but I don't recommend one since it failed on me and the 280's seem to have a problem (after a certain NVidia update, the hardware got irrevocably damaged).

Yes;; move the thread please <3~...
And yeah, it is PCI-E 2.0...
How long have you had your 560 TI? It seems that the 550TI is the only one available near me. (Ever since somebody used our credit card for unauthorized transactions, my parents aren't doing any internet shopping... it all hast to be in store.)
No ATI recommendations?

Kay, done.
I've had the 560 Ti since uh... April of last year.

As for me I don'T care about ATi because I'm in mad love with physx, so I don't know anything about their products. Otherwise I would have recommended something.

Screw it. Looks like the 550 TI is the only one I can really afford in the local area that is comparable... So~... I guess topic resolved?

PCIe and PCIe 2.0 are more or less the same thing and you don't need to worry about it.
The 560 Ti is a good card, but it is not single slot. You mentioned single slot as the requirement, so I'm guessing that's all your case can handle? You should double check this. It's actually pretty hard to find a decent performance single slot card these days...
EDIT: The 550 Ti is pretty crappy for its price/performance, last I checked. Going the AMD route may be better then. But yea.. the question about the single slot thing still stands.

I know the price performance didn't match, but it was the only one I could get in the area that's decent. As I stated, parents never buy anything from non-retail-chain stores now...
... it isn't my money, so I don't really mind. I told them that it wasn't worth it.
Regardless, my computer is working now.. Let's hope it stays that way.
