There's one Senator who's been leading the charge against SOPA and PIPA for more than a year now: Oregon's Ron Wyden.
He's offered to read the names of censorship opponents from the floor of the Senate during his filibuster next week.
Until a couple of months ago, Wyden was the only thing standing in the way of PROTECT IP. He blocked the bill because he cares about the Internet -- he gets the Internet. He's even the person who wrote the safe harbor law which makes it possible for sites with user-generated content -- like Twitter, Youtube, and Reddit -- to operate.
And he's about to take another bold step: He's going to crowd-source the filibuster of PIPA next week, and he wants all of us to be a part of it. Wyden is going to read names into the record next week when he takes the floor to kill SOPA and PIPA.
If you want to be part of it, you can go here:

(just put it in the info then hit enter)
If you don't know what a filibuster is, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filibuster
In laymens terms, Senators are allowed to talk as long as they want, but there is only a certain amount of time allowed for making decisions. So basically, the idea is to talk for so long that they don't even have time to vote on it. The result when they see a filibuster coming is generally to just pass on it so they can get any of their other business taken care of.
You can also urge President Obama to pledge to Veto SOPA/PIPA if they ever come to him, which should similarly kill them: http://act.demandprogress.org/act/veto_sopa/
You should probably use a spam e-mail though, since these guys e-mail you a lot. I mean a lot... You can unsub from it, but... you may want to use a spam e-mail address anyways. Though, they do a good job of keeping you really up to date on what's going on with this stuff, so you may like them.
