Ok, so I see these stupid bots in Mabi hunting foxes and racoons and stuff for potions and gold, then selling all the gold together. It might not be much, but each little bot earning about 12 gold per minute left on for a week would total a lot of money...
So, my question is, with the farming skill out, what keeps these bot companies from just making like...100 accounts and have them all farm at the same time? That's like....tens of mil in 6 days, and all they have to do is log in to each account and click a button every hour.
With the farming skill out, what does Nexon do to prevent these bots from farming? Because obviously, it's not that hard to get a farm plot, and you literally don't have to do anything.

they would most likely end up loosing money because its an auto click that makes bots bots
so to do the same thing every hour for days would mean creating a whole new program and system would be alot more trouble then its worth
and crops can fail and you loose money or there would be no crops to buy

Honestly, that takes a whole lot more work than simple botting. The gold farmers simply put their bot in the right place and start a program. You notice that the bots are always near a starting point, right? That's because they try to get them out there as soon as possible so that they can put out more. It may not seem like a lot, but the time to WALK to Taillteann is a big waste.
Then comes in money. 30k isn't a lot, but with simple botting they don't spend a thing at all. You also have to remember how long they have to wait. Even though farming has the potential to bring in a lot more, it isn't as logical to them as simple botting. You also have to remember that they use programs to do their botting, and programs aren't an easy thing to make.

I don't know where you guys are getting program from. It's a macro, which is a script. They aren't very hard to make for someone who has been doing it for a long time.
The only reason they don't do farms is because if you pick the wrong option it takes longer for your farm to grow and you could possibly fail.

I don't see failing as a threat.
If you fail crops you either
A) left it unattended and didn't use all your actions (not a problem for bots), or
B) purposely ignored the stat that was dying and helped the stat that was maxed (which isn't a problem since you only need to think about the stats once, since they always change at the same rate, and then macro for the best action sequence)
It's probably more complicated to create the macro that loads up on Brown Fox Fomor Scrolls, runs to Duncan from wherever they were on the map, starts the conversation, opens the shop, buys the right amount of Brown Fox Fomor Scroll collection quests (keeping inventory space in mind) completes the quest, deposits the gold wherever they put it, and then goes back to farming while picking up the gold and fomor scrolls and keeping enough space in the inventory.
Honestly, even I could make a farm bot macro with just what I've learned from reading the script of the fossil macro. All it would be is
Click option 1
Wait for 1800 seconds
Move mouse X pixels down
Click option 2
Wait ... etc

It actually IS simple. So I'm just wondering why aren't people abusing this. When farming was released, I was expecting to see major gold inflation in the following weeks due to the huge profit/effort ratio.

maybe the gold bots care about economy and they don't want massive inflation? <--- ya riteee..
i guessing they wanna limit their gold supply so that they make more money per mil

You guys are all wrong about the gold farming bots you see.
They manipulate packets rather than using a scripting language, usually. Ones with a scripting language don't run all the way to duncan to cash in, only picking up the stuff.

There is probably one in the works. I have no doubts about it, but it would take a while to perfect.

Maybe programmers are idiots at not noticing farming may yield more money?
But really think about it, will farming for x numbers of days get them more money or will killing monsters 24/7 get them more money? Cause I think killing monsters 24/7 is better for them since there's a bigger chance they'll get more money....
Until that update where 0 durability weapons come in and murks them all.

Send this thread to a bot programmer and tell them to be a better bot. >_>

halfslashed is more knowledgeable on stuff like this than any of us.
soo bots use not only macros, but also PEs?

How would you get 30.5k in the inventory in the first place? It needs to be transferred. Time wasted.
Also, getting to Taillteann? Time wasted.
Slightly off topic: Is it possible to bypass the 0 durability weapon thing by going barehanded?
