I started playing my Lann a bit more, want to get him better equipment so I don't die every few seconds/do enough damage.
Was thinking Adjusted Maelstrom on BT Spears, but I'm not sure besides that. Need an armor set that's affordable so I can enchant it without any worries, and need enchants to put on the armor. Wouldn't mind suggestions for accessories and enchants for those also.
I hear Sentinel and other tanky enchants are good, but I'm not really sure if I could afford a ton of those.

Rounded enchants are fairly cheap and only rank A, and try for an Impending/Explosive-Maelstrom for high amount of attack. As for armor sets, try dark crest, fairly cheap and will serve you well. Accessories, sarghamiu nose ring, warrior's courage ring+emblem, ghostly ring, thor belt. Also use the enchants given to you from 66-69.
Sorry for the quick and short response, don't have much time left on here.

Dark crest is sort of crappy and not exactly cheap (helmet is like 4 mil). It's better to mix 2 armor sets black hammer/ingkelss/swift and get higher stats. Swift is actually pretty cheap if you buy the materials instead of right off the market.

I don't know science's skill in dodging, so I can't say for sure what armor sets to go with. I'm completely fine with my dark crest.

Alright, sounds good. Think I'll use my cheapo armor for now and save up for those accessories and a mix of Ingkells/DC/Swift.
Also, another question: what is a good amount of defense and attack to have? I hear numbers like 6~9k defense and at least 13k attack or something?

You really don't need 9K defense. That's a very high end thing and will be quite expensive. Do that after you're done messing around with the rest of your gear and have a +10 or higher weapon.

7K Defense makes the game very manageable, and you should be able to get around that or more with 4 Sentinel and some mix of Healthy and Passion, or all Passion if you can manage it.
For armor sets, I think the cheapest one that's OK is Ingkells Chest/Pants/Boots and Swift Helm/Gloves.. or some other mix of Ingkells 3 / Swift 2 if you have different preferences in stats. I would avoid having parts from 3 sets (Quoting your mix of Ingkells/DC/Swift), but if you're concerned about looks you could try DC 3 (Hat/Gloves/Boots) / Ingkells 2 (Chest/Pants), which I ... use as my set because I can't stand how Swift and BH look; DC mixes seem pretty suboptimal, but the resulting stats aren't horrifyingly bad. That only happens when you start mixing Lorica...
If you can't buy Sentinels I'd almost recommend not putting any suffix at all on the armor. You definitely want Masters for your tunic suffix, and while many Lanns seem to stick Explosive on spears I'm solidly of the opinion that it isn't a good idea; -7% critical is a stiff penalty, and it's not just about GF opportunities, while that is a big factor.
Adjusted Maelstrom is fine, the other candidates being Leopard and Twinkling; I don't like the deduction on critical resistance on Twinkling though, and it seems to be more for Sword Lanns with DWTSs. If you find yourself reluctant on putting 2 r9s on your weapon you should still definitely get Maelstrom, but maybe have Impending or Fateful as the prefix. (Does Decisive ES exist? It shows up on DB but I don't remember ever considering that an option)
Typical accessory set would have Ghostly Ring, Ocean's Embrace, Thor Solid Leather Belt, Warrior's Courage Emblem, and the Nose Ring / Shield Badge. Thor Belts, Nose Rings, and Emblems are nice targets for any Warlord scrolls you come across since you don't have to worry too much if they explode. If gold is an issue at all I'd stay away from Tutelaries
