Would you stick by him/her or would you bail out?
Let's say you guys have been with each other for a really long time.

I stick with them. If they may be dying soon then that's more of a reason to stay with them. If it is someone you love, you want to spend as much time together as possible.

I don't have a significant other.
Assuming I did though, I'd stick with them. I'm honestly not the sort of self serving jerk that'd bail out like that, specially in those sort of situations.

That's nice. :)
Also, would you blame someone who just cannot stick by his/her dying lover? I mean, it is tough and all. Could we blame someone like that? Is it right?

Stay. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I bailed and didn't try to keep him happy in the end.
Erm, I guess whether or not I blamed someone for leaving would depend on the person.

If I was with them for a really long time, I would probably like them way more than anyone before them, so yeah, I would stay with them owo

Well you
could blame them but it is understandable. I think most people who would blame a person in that situation most likely haven't been a situation like that themselves. So it would be unfair since you wouldn't be able to relate to them. Most people wouldn't know this person's motives either. He/she most likely loves his/her lover so leaving that lover may have reasoning behind it. For example, the person may leave the lover because he/she doesn't want to see this person hurt and weak and wants to retain the image of the lover when he/she was doing his/her best.
o.O
Hope that makes sense.

You're actually asking the easier half of the question.
The harder part is, knowing that you have a terminal disease, do you encourage your SO to still see you?
-
Phunkie wrote on 2010-06-30 06:30
That is a hard situation. I would still love to see my SO if I were terminally ill and would feel so hurt if he just couldn't stand to see me, 'cause of the sad feelings and whatnot.
-
Chiri wrote on 2010-06-30 06:33
I would want my SO to break up with me. It's a bit much to expect them to watch me die, and live with that pain afterwards. And for what? My own feelings? If I'm going to die anyway... the person I love doesn't have to see it and should be able to move on.
-
Phunkie wrote on 2010-06-30 06:37
I would be scared to be alone. I'd want my SO next to me, as selfish as it is to him. But I'd want us to go out and have fun, even if I'm gonna die.
